Job Role Summary

 

We are seeking dynamic, creative, and resourceful candidates for ExxonMobil’s Yuzhno, Russia, location to work on challenging petrophysical problems in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team.  Candidates will conduct applied project work with real well log, core and well test data, using a variety of software for petrophysical data processing and evaluation.

Job Role Responsibilities

•    Contribute to all stages of petrophysical and formation evaluation project work including data quality analysis, data preparation, pre-processing, data filtering / augmentation, environmental corrections, routine Logging While Drilling and Wireline log data corrections, alignment, editing and splicing
•    Coordinate Formation Evaluation program planning, procurement and execution, including protocol development and (typically  remote) QAQC of drilling, coring, logging at testing operations
•    Provide petrophysical interpretation and input to drill well and workover programs
•    Perform petrophysical interpretation daily while drilling objective interval and communicates results
•    Provide input to well completion design in collaboration with multi-disciplinary team
•    Provide petrophysical support for Opportunity Generation (as required) to support consistent and evergreen geologic models, multi-well analyses supporting region-, basin-, and field-scale prospectivity assessments
•    Mudlog-well log-core-test data integration / calibration
•    Shale / clay volume, net-to-gross, pore- and hydrocarbon pore-volume estimations
•    Shaly sand, thin-bed, image log, multi-mineral analyses, petrofacies/ electrofacies analysis
•    Fluid type identification and characterization, pressure data/fluid gradient analysis
•    Porosity-permeability and capillary pressure modeling / prediction
•    Provide petrophysical training and mentoring as requested

Job Requirements

•    Candidates should have a BS, MA/MS and /or PhD degree from a recognized university Geology, Geophysics, Engineering or Physics (or related fields)
•    Demonstrated record of hands-on industry experience in petrophysical analyses in support of upstream oil and gas operations; minimum of 5 years industry experience required
•    Strong computational and analytical skills
•    Willing to travel periodically – Domestic, Offshore and International
•    Experience with one or more integrated petrophysical analysis software suites
•    Good communication skills in English and Russian
