In Yangon, IECD launched a training center and social enterprise in the field of Bakery & Pastry. Since July 2018, 22 students followed an intensive practical and theoretical training (bakery, pastry, life skills, IT, English etc.) that prepared them for a successful integration in the job market.

Within “The French Bakery” social enterprise, the products baked by the students were sold and contributed to cover part of the cost of the training.

As a way to adapt to the evolving context, IECD is now working on new ways to better support the vulnerable beneficiaries towards a successful social and professional integration in the Hospitality sector.

A pilot phase will focus on technical assistance to a partner, in the field of French Bakery, Life Skills and Guidance & Employment.

Mission

Together with the local partner and with its team, the project manager will lead the implementation of the pilot phase of the project and will prepare for a successful long-term implementation.

A successful pilot phase and a positive evolution of the local context could lead to several development opportunities for the hospitality project and potentially for other projects (develop new IECD activities in Myanmar). Therefore, based on the candidate’s competencies and motivation, the position can evolve, and the missions below are scalable.

The projects manager will be fully involved all along this partnership, from the development and proper implementation of the pilot phase to its evaluation and plan for a next phase.

  • Activities coordination
  • By coordinating the activities of the Bakery Instructor and the Pedagogical Coordinator, ensure the proper implementation of the training activities (Bakery, Life Skills) and a high-quality individual follow-up of the students on both personal and academic sides.
  • Provide the Bakery Instructor and the Pedagogical Coordinator with guidance and support. When needed, involve other IECD internal expertise: Bakery expert based in Vietnam, Life Skills or pedagogical expertise etc.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism for all the activities implemented by IECD within the scope of the partnership.

  • Partnership coordination and steering
  • Ensure a high-quality relationship with the local partner: co-creation and partnership development.
