Save the Children recruits a FSL Officer  (200003CY) in Hodieda

Scope of role:

Reports to : FSL Program Coordinator

Staff reporting to this post: FSL assistant.

Budget Responsibilities:None

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Responsible for FSL activities implementation in the targeted districts and supervise FSL assistants to carry a high quality implementation.
  • Responsible for compilation of project data and sharing regular reports and updates to the FSL Program Manager.
  • Ensure high quality of implementing CFW actvities in the field.
  • Responsible for compilation of project information and sharing regular reports and updates to FSL Program Manager.
  • Ensure correct beneficiary selection procedures and criteria are followed by FSL Assistants.
  • Ensure any feedback from beneficiaries or target communities shared by FSL Assistants are appropriately responded to and raised to FSL Program Manager.
  • Coordinate with Logistics, Finance, and MEAL teams to make sure they know exact distribution timetable and beneficiary numbers so that cash/vouchers are available / redeemed in the required locations at the required times.
  • Ensure FSL Assistants understand and check the quality of information collected.
  • Compile data and share with relevant staff in a timely manner.
  • Works closely with community development committee to ensure effective coordination and ensure the most vulnerable people are targeted and no overlap occurs.
  • Ensure coordination with local authorities and communities to facilitate the activities and tasks.
  • Responsible for generating lessons learned and success stories.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the line manager.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a discipline such as social sciences, geography, anthropology, business administration, economics or other discipline relevant to .urban/rural livelihoods.

Total Work Experience (In Yrs):

  • Two years of experience while working with development or humanitarian agencies.

Sector Experience (In Yrs):

  • One year experiences in food security and livelihood interventions (food / commodity distribution, cash transfers, CFW).

Skills:

  • High sense of responsibility.
  • Good administrative and organizational skills.
  • Solid understanding of project cycle management.
  • Background in Food Security Activities (Voucher/cash transfer, Food distribution, Agriculture, Livestock, Monitoring, Assessment, etc)
  • Good knowledge of the culture and dialect of the area of intervention.
  • Skills related to participatory research methods, and computer literacy.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively to the field, under sometimes difficult and occasionally insecure circumstances.
  • Communication skills to operate with a multinational and multilingual teams.
  • Very good computer knowledge (Excel, Word, and preferably photoshop).
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Ability to represent SCI in meetings with local authorities and other stake holder.
