Job environment :

Action Against Hunger (ACF) has been operational in Nigeria since 2010 and has been able to successfully implement integrated programs in Nutrition, Health, Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). Further the mission  has expanded its programs in the wake of conflict in Borno state since 2017, focusing on   long term sustainable programs focused on system strengthening for Health, WASH, Social Protection, and Agriculture sectors. ACF has also been operating in Jigawa and Kano states in the Northwest with social protection, advocacy and policy level interventions. The mission launched response in Sokoto state in the Northwest in 2021 following the cholera outbreak. Since 2018, ACF has been among the leading agencies in implementing the Rapid Response Mechanism (RRM) in Northeast and Northwest Nigeria (Borno, Yobe, Jigawa, Kano, Bauchi and Sokoto states) in an effort to address the urgent humanitarian assistance to the displaced populations. Currently, ACF is implementing multi-sectoral emergency and development oriented programs in Yobe, Borno, Jigawa, Kano and Sokoto States reaching 3,961,018 individuals (1,714,626 male; 2,246,392 female) in the year 2021. Despite the remarkable achievements in humanitarian sector, ACF, as other humanitarian actors, has been continuously affected by the shrinking humanitarian space due to the security context caused by the operation of non-state armed groups.

 

Your poste and responsibilities :

The main objective of this position is to define the HR policies for the mission and coordinate their implementation and deployment throughout the mission in order to provide optimum support to programs.

The main responsibilities of the mission are :

-You contribute to define the mission strategy;

-You supervise the staff administration and payroll;

-You manage the Human Resources team at Capital and providing technical support to Human Resources team in the bases;

-You provide the recruitment and training of all employees and promote career development;

-You ensure a coherent organisation of work and establish a policy of compensation and benefits;

-You implement collective rules and communicate them internally;

-You promote and coordinate Human Resources with the mission’s partners;

-You prevent and manage cases of fraud and corruption.

Your profile :

You have a University Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Science or International Relations. You have at least 3 years of relevant experience as a HR professional with experience in INGO sector preferrably as part of a senior management team. You should be knowledgeable in all aspects of Human Resource Management including team management and working in an intercultural environment. You are highly organized, disciplined, detail oriented and work well under pressure. You are self motivated and capable to analyse information with the aim of arriving at conclusions with minimal guidance. Additionally, you should have excellent written and verbal communication as well as be computer literate especially when it comes to report writing and analysis.

Job conditions :

  • 12 months fixed term contract under French or Nigeria legislation;
