Save the Children recruits a FSL Project Officer  (200002RT) in Sheberghan, Afghanistan

Job Purpose:

The FSL project officer is responsible to coordinate the implementation of project, ensure that activities and outputs are implemented in a timely manner and according to the implementation plan. The incumbent will work towards achieving project goals working closely with project team to conduct field assessment, market price monitoring, involvement with local communities, and distribution of inputs. The FSL project officer will provide her/his support to project coordinator in withhold the quality of trainings and effectiveness of income generating activities and timely reporting.

Key Areas of Accountabilities:

Support project team to conduct community mobilization, sensitization and selection/verification of project beneficiaries based on pre-set criteria’s
§Responsible for FSL activity implementation in the field and supervise FSL field team to carry a high-quality implementation

  •  Collaborate with Project Coordinator, assistants and MEAL staff to design community mobilization strategy, project implementation plans and through regular field visits provide supervision and support
  •  Responsible for compilation of information on project implementation and reporting to project coordinator on regular basis
  •  Ensure improved coordination by working closely with project assistants and other team member and ensure FSL activities are well coordinated with protection activities in terms of beneficiary’s selection and planning of activities.
  •  Ensure alignment of project activities to project design and is consistent across project locations
  •  Responsible for monitoring the impact of the project, promote learning, support decision making and documentation of best practices.
  •  Build the capacity of staff to ensure:
    •  The staff understand and use standard set of training material and approach
    •  The staff understand best practices in livelihood and income generating activities
    •  The staff could identify the beneficiaries based on pre-set criteria

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning

  •  Prepare and implement action plan for quality monitoring
  •  Mobilizing and Making communities awareness on project objectives, outputs, activities, MEAL systems and SCI Child Safeguarding Policies.

Partnership

  •  Ensure personal commitment in building constructive working relationship with partners based on SCI partnership principles spelled out in Theory of Change
  •  Support project manager on day to day handling of department tasks related to partners

Qualifications:

Educational Qualification
Veterinary Degree

Experience and skills

  •  3 to 5 years of experience in relevant field
  •  Knowledge of market
  •  Good communication skills
  •  Problem solving, analytical and negotiation skills
  •  Computer literate
  •  English proficiency in both speaking and writing

Additional job responsibilities:
