Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of SESEHA Project Coordinator\Manager, and coordination with ABADEI team The Procurement Analyst will be part of the KFW project technical team and will report directly to the Project Coordinator\Manager, UNDP Afghanistan Country office in Kabul.

The analyst will provide regular updates for the work carried out both technical and coordination responsibility indicated above to the Project Manager.

The incumbent will undertake the following tasks of the project: 

  • Provide overall Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) and communications support for the project implementation.
  • Assist in design and conducting various assessments, data collection, data analysis, spot checks and site visits to ensure project activities are on track toward achieving project results.
  • Draft and finalize project reports including monthly, quarterly and annual project progress reports.
  • Support the project to deliver effective external communication including sharing success stories and highlighting progress to the relevant stakeholders. S/he will closely work with project field offices staff, UNDP IRMU/DEU/PMU, and UNDP Partnership and communication team.
  • Provide overall M&E and communications support to the project implementation.
  • Provide technical assistance in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, ensuring that results are delivered in accordance with the workplan, standards, allocations, framework and rules and regulations.
  • Ensure effective application of RBM tools, establishment of management targets, and monitoring achievement of results.
  • Support the project team inf drafting, finalization and implementation of project’s M&E plan, to effectively track project progress against specific indicators.
  • Continuously monitor and update project risk logs but offline and in the ATLAS to facilitate informed decision on the project implementation.
  • Ensure program reviews and evaluations take place, manage the reviews and evaluation processes, and assist in preparing the management response.

Assist in design and conducting various assessments, data collection, data analysis, spot checks and site visits to ensure project activities are on track toward achieving project results.

  • Review and assist the capacity building of implementing partners, organize relevant trainings and orientations.
  • Act as channel of communication and coordination with the implementing partners for effective and efficient implementation of assessments, surveys, and other data collection processes.
  • Verify the best practices and lessons learned are taken into consideration while developing work plans and program strategies.
  • Provide technical support in planning and carrying out program monitoring and preparing periodic reports including annual report, donor reports, Results-Oriented Annual Reporting (ROAR) and Integrated Work Plan (IWP).
Support the project to deliver effective external communication including sharing success stories and highlighting progress to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct a thorough analysis and research of the political, social, and economic situation in the country and collaborate with the Programme Management Unit (PMU) team in preparation/revision of project documents, Annual Work Plan (AWP), and other documents as necessary.
  • Maintain the strategic partnerships and supports resource mobilization
  • Coordination and networking with clients, stakeholders, and programme partners.
  • Coordination and networking with UN agencies, clients, stakeholders, and programme partners.
Required Skills and Experience
Education:
  • Master’s degree in development studies, political science, social science or other related areas,
Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years with Master’s or 4 years with BA Degree of Relevant experience in solid project management, M&E, RBM, reporting and communications.
  • Previous experience of working with community-based NGOs is required.
  • Solid knowledge on result-based management and project implementation is required.
  • Good analytical skills and writing skills is required.
  • Experience working in conflict or transition context is required.
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.), working knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, ands experience in the handling of web-based management systems is required.
  • Previous experience with UN/UNDP managed projects is an asset.
  • Experience in working with international organization or international community is an asset.
Language requirement : Proficiency in oral and written English. Fluency in Pashtu or Dari is required.
