REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

  1. The African Development Bank hereby invites Consulting Firms to indicate their interest in the following Assignment: Lake Kivu and Ruzizi River Basin Water Quality Management Project for financing by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) ;
  1. The services to be provided under the assignment include: the preparation of project documents to enable the implementation of the GEF International Water Focal Area financed project. The firm will assist Lake Kivu and Ruzizi River Basin Authority (ABAKIR) and the AfDB, in the consultative preparation of the project and the formulation of: (i) a project design report; (ii) GEF-CEO Endorsement document; (iii) an AfDB Project Preparation Report; and, (iv) an AfDB Project Appraisal Report (to be drafted building on the PPR) with support of the Bank team. The documents shall be developed in line with the AfDB’s and GEF’s guidelines and formats, in consultation with Lake Kivu basin stakeholders. All documents shall be approved by the AfDB and the GEF ;
  1. The Water Development and Sanitation Department (AHWS) invites Consulting Firms to indicate their interest in providing the above-described services. Interested eligible Consulting Firms or associations of Consulting Firms shall provide information on their qualifications and experience demonstrating their ability to provide the services (documentation, references for similar services, experience in comparable Assignments, availability of qualified staff, etc.) ;
  1. The eligibility criteria, the establishment of a short list and the selection procedure shall be in conformity with the Bank’s Procurement Policy Framework for projects financed by the Bank Group, October 2015 Edition, available on the Bank Website at http://www.afdb.org. Please, note that interest expressed by a Consulting Firm does not imply any obligation on the part of the Bank to include it in the shortlist ;
  1. The estimated duration of services six months and the estimated starting date is March 15, 2021 ;
  1. Interested Individual Consultants may obtain further information at the email addresses below during the Bank’s working hours: 9 AM to 5 PM Abidjan time ;
  1. Expressions of interest must be received at the email addresses below no later than February 26, 2021 at 5 PM Abidjan time specifically mentioning “GEF: Lake Kivu and Ruzizi River Basin Water Quality Management Project”.
