These are your responsibilities

  • Act as global technical advisor for accessibility with a focus on making Community Support Services and Systems (CSS) accessible via CBM’s programme work.
  • Conceptualise and regularly update CBM’s programmatic engagement in the area of accessibility: Develop and roll out technical guidance, accordingly, respond to accessibility requests in programmes across the organisation, prioritizing those with a focus on social protection and country level programming.
  • Lead the implementation of accessibility audits within selected project facilities – including drafting of audit reports, action plans and budgets, and technical oversight of accessibility renovations.
  • Build capacities in accessibility within CBM country teams and partners, with a focus on CSS pilot countries.
  • Engage in relevant technical conversations with institutional donors and their agencies.
  • Provide technical support and input on accessibility to the design and implementation of programmes especially social protection systems.
  • Support advocacy planning and messaging in line with CBM’s Advocacy Plan.

These are your qualifications

  • Master’s degree in inclusive design, social sciences, international development, or related field;
  • Professional experience of five to ten (5-10) years in international NGOs and/or multilateral or government agencies, with a proven track record and relevant networks in the field of accessibility (e.g. universal design, accessibility audits, capacity development, advocacy);
  • Proven experience in results-based management and project cycle management, including assessment, monitoring and evaluation of international development programmes;
  • Ability to engage in dialogue with policy stakeholders such as governments, academia and technical bodies on legal and technical frameworks related to accessibility;
  • Experience of developing rights-based programmes and working with marginalised and vulnerable groups, including meaningful participation in programme planning, monitoring, evaluation as well as in political decision-making;
  • Comprehensive understanding of accessibility;
  • Person with lived experience of disability are encouraged to apply;
  • Excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills and teamwork;
  • English (Professional Proficiency);
  • French, Spanish, German, other language (Advantageous);
  • Proficient in MS Office;
  • Identification with Christian Values and the mandate of CBM.
