Africa Franchising Accelerator Project

GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE

 

 

 

  1. Tanzania has received a grant from the African Development Bank to finance the Africa Franchising Accelerator Project (AFRAP) in consideration of the upcoming Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). Using Tanzania as a pilot, franchising is expected to drive deeper and faster economic integration, commercial diplomacy, rapid skills transfer, jobs creation, wealth creation, and poverty reduction in Africa ;
  1. The principal objectives of this project are to :
  • Support the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania in drafting a franchise policy and integrating franchising in other trade –related policies ;
  • Support and nurture 90 indigenous SMEs and 10 aggregated micro operators’ transformation into franchise brands ;
  • Incubate the Franchise Association of Tanzania (FATA) to become the industry self-regulatory mechanism at project closure.
  1. The project includes the following components :
  • Mapping of ecosystem and developing a franchise enabling environment in the entire EAC region ;
  • Access to skills for 100 indigenous franchise brands and key stakeholders ;
  • Project management and incubation of the Franchise Association of Tanzania (FATA)
  1. Procurement of goods, works, non-consultancy services and Consultancy Services will be in accordance with the Bank’s Procurement Framework Dated October 2015, available on Bank’s website afdb.org. Expression of Interest (EOI) documents for the Project Lead Franchise Consultant are expected to be available in starting from December 2020.
