How can you make a difference?

  1. Support CO’s activities around donor relations and communication with public donors as well as UNICEF National Committees; support the CO communication with UNICEF PPD and PFP colleagues on fundraising and donor relations matters (e.g. HAC, etc.). Support office’s effort to strengthen the existing donors’ relationships, and further expand the office network with new prospects. Develop and enhance the CO understanding of potential and existing donors through deeper donor analysis, regular meetings and communication, active monitoring of call for proposals and funding opportunities, donor briefing sessions, and provide a systematic follow up of all opportunities ;
  2. In close consultation with the Country Management Team and Program Sections implement the resource mobilization strategy and action plan for 2021-2025 CPD. Guide and support Country Management Team on opportunities for resource mobilization including with public/ bilateral donors, National Committees, and private sector. Prepare fundraising strategies as required to respond to specific needs (e.g., emergency situations) as identified by the Programme section. Prepare monthly updates and quarterly analytical reports to the Country Management Team and the Program Coordination Team ;
  3. Oversee and directly contribute to the donor proposal development process. Gather insights about specific fundraising opportunities and brief the concerned colleagues (management and program colleagues). Support the conceptualization and development of project proposals with substantive input from Project Officers and field staff. Coordinate the contribution from colleagues and ensure timely and quality donor proposal submission ;
  4. Help the CO developing a culture of “customer relationships management” and ensure focus on donors’ and partners’ satisfaction is perceived as a critical success factor to ensure business continuity. This includes critically review the office donor reports to ensure the donor’s perspective is considered, and the program results are effectively represented and in line with the commitments taken with the donor. Mapping donor/partners engagement opportunities and ensure the office is well equipped with quality outreach material and tools ;
  5. Manage donor communication and other needs such as field visits, development of communication products etc. Create, review, and edit – in close collaboration with Communications and Section – a set of high-quality resource mobilization documents for a large range of stakeholders and potential donors; Ensure timely coordination and dissemination. Work closely with communications team and seek synergies between resource mobilization and communications to enhance donor visibility and recognition, as well as advocacy for fundraising purposes through innovative approaches. Develop a robust database and donor intelligence to support the Country Management ;
  6. Regularly liaise with programme sections, as well as participate in strategic meetings, to ensure an updated and comprehensive knowledge of UNICEF programmes and their funding gaps. Support the Management outreach efforts and briefings with donors to report on status of children in Cote d’Ivoire, CPD implementation, and funding needs ;
  7. Support the Education section’s fundraising and grant management activities, with a particular focus on the “Conceptos Plasticos” flagship project. Initial support to the Education project officers on grant management and donors’ commitments.

 

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education : Master’s Degree in Social Science, Public Relations, International Affairs, Marketing, Communications, Business Management or any other related field.

Experience :

  • At least five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in Resource Mobilization, Marketing, Communication, Partnerships, Fundraising, Reporting. Of which at least 1 year should be in developing countries ;
  • Specific experience in fundraising, coordinating, writing, and editing donor proposals ;
  • Proficient in use of MS Office suite ;
  • Active involvement in a humanitarian crisis / emergency fundraising response will be considered an asset ;
  • Familiarity with UNICEF systems: VISION / Insight / Fiori Donor Reporting Portal will be considered an asset.

Language Requirements : Excellent writing and speaking skills both in French and English.
