Job Description

Strategy: 
Support the implementation of the TSA Business Roadmap and other Lubricants StrategiesLubricant sales :

  • Reporting:
    • Financial reporting: weekly, monthly, YTD and prior year’s sales volumes and GMVC, measure performance to plan and understand and communicate variances to the Business Manager and Channel Managers
    • Month, Quarter and Year end activities including preparation of journals
    • Commercial Review preparation monthly, and general support to the sales team around understanding the monthly results
    • Big 6 Commercial Business Review preparation and participation
    • Group reporting around TGMO products reporting, ROSA, and Nexus
  • Annual Business Planning:
    • Prepare the Annual Business Plan, Estimated result and Long-Term plan
  • Analysis:
    • Revenue and Margin management: review group COMPASS tool, analyse trending (Revenue, COS and GMVC) to make recommendations at the pricing committee and other forums around areas for focus
    • Analyse customer and product profitability to make recommendations through to the Business Manager and Sales Channel Manager
    • Cost Review:
      • Variable Costs, understand impact on GMVC
      • Fixed Cost, validation and review
    • Product cost (MAP) monitoring
  • Revenue and Margin Management:
    • Management of the Wholesale List Price (WSLP) at segment level as required
      • Including: Product Tiering Differentials, and packaging differentials
    • Maintain the Pricing Tool and inputs monthly
    • Co-ordintaor role with TOTAL group Pricing team to ensure that Lubricants business is meeting the required Pricing and Revenue KPI’s and implementing the nominated pricing management tools
    • Price Expiry Tracking bi-monthly
    • Oversight/Management of the Pricing Committee – preparation of Pricing committee agenda, data analysis preparation and minutes covering key action items
    • Affiliate and Lubmarine price list maintenance monthly
    • Transfer price review, mapping and updates monthly
    • Request maintenance of the Rose Foundation Levy on new products
    • Customer Price Formula updates and development; preparation and participation in key pricing formula Customer negotiations
    • Maintenance of Rebate contracts
    • Processing of Credit and Debit notes and Rebate settlements
    • Product Cost (MAP) review
      • Identify and correct MAP errors
      • Understand drivers for MAP changes, and communication to Business and Sales Channel managers
      • Forward looking review to provide proactive rather than reactive recommendations

  • S&OP:
    • Represent the sales Team in the MRP (material requirements planning) process
      • Run the biweekly Sales FoF discussion
      • Participate actively in the Logistics and other FoF sessions daily
      • Review product MRP settings and update in response to the changing environment (new customer, new product, new depot etc), as required
    • Mass Balance monitoring dashboard preparation for TSA, and NBE monthly
  • Other:
    • CAPEX: measure spend against plan, and engagement with sales team around requirements
    • eLub: Administration of users
    • Total Gain: Administration of users, uploading sales, approving claims and other general support to the sales team
    • EDI: daily monitoring of EDI orders, maintenance of Lookup tables for Customer and Products; onboarding of new customers onto EDI
    • Placement of COC and other identified Key customer orders, as required
    • Purchase Order process, from creation of Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders, to goods receipting
    • Audit Inputs: provide information as requested by Audit teams
    • Support on IT and Other Projects

HSEQ
Ensure the Business Supports team’s adherence and compliance to company HSEQ and security standards, (Golden rules and Near miss reporting)

Context and environment

The position is accountable for developing and implementing a pricing strategy for the Lubricants business to support the sales team to meet the customer and product profitability roles; Analysis and reporting of financial and commercial results and making recommendations to meet the financial KPI’s of the business, and other support for the sales team as required. Requires development of strong inter-divisional relationships specifically with the respective Commercial sales managers, TSA Financial Control and regional Credit team.
Management and Coaching of direct reports to ensure the highest level of support for the Lubricants Commercial Business.

Candidate profile

  • Appropriate business degree
  • 5 – 10 years experience in Lubricants Management, sales and marketing environment
  • Appropriate knowledge of the products and their potential applications in the industry
  • Demonstrated acumen in SAP and Excel are non-negotiable to ensure timeous and accurate business reporting
  • Experience in developing reporting platforms in Power BI would be advantageous
  • Applied sales management, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Knowledge and application of TSA code of conducts and ethics
  • Knowledge and application of TSA policies and procedures

Experience in managing a team would be advantageous
