The Quality Manager position is responsible for planning and directing the quality and continuous improvement activities for the  manufacturing group. The Quality Manager will further develop, implement, and manage existing systems designed to drive quality behavior and discipline throughout the manufacturing process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the organization’s quality systems, policies, standards, procedures and strategic plans to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Drive continuous improvement by maintaining QA standards relating to processes and products and ensuring QA teams and employees improve the organization’s accuracy, efficiency and profitability
  • Catalyze change initiatives in concert with the leadership team
  • Direct a multi-dimensional approach to quality activities during prototype and production stages
  • Direct, plan, prepare and review control plans, process flows and QITPs
  • Coordinate communication with Suppliers, Customers, and Company Engineering Team on quality issues
  • Lead cross-functional quality review, training, and issue resolution meetings
  • Initiate supplier development program and perform on-site supplier assessments
  • Monitor and define quality policies, manual and procedures while ensuring compliance to the quality system requirements.
  • Ensure annual ISO 9001 reviews, take ownership and make revisions to the QAM, system procedures and work instructions as necessary
  • Facilitate and lead continuous improvement projects, leveraging global best practices to drive best in class processes
  • Own quality KPI reporting and improvement
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field of study
  • Experience with ISO 9001 quality systems standards are a must
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Automotive/Industrial manufacturing
  • Minimum 5 years in continuous improvement methodologies
  • Proven record of lean manufacturing skills and experience
  • Experience auditing suppliers with emphasis material supply and manufacturing processes
  • Strong Computer Skills with experience working with ERP systems
  • Candidate must be proficient in standard MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Certified Quality Auditor preferred

The employee will be in a office  environment with frequent occasions where the employee will have tasks to perform in a Laboratory environment and a Manufacturing environment, where Personal Protective Equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses and Safety Shoes are required. They may be required to work in extreme cold and extreme heat and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. Their work may involve risks to hazards such as: working around moving mechanical parts; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the manufacturing environment may exceed 85dB and will require the use of hearing protection.
