The Role

Oxfam International is looking for a Regional Director for Latin America and Caribbean, to contribute to and implement Oxfam’s Global objectives and Strategy, by providing vision and strategic direction to all of Oxfam’s work in the LAC Region. This includes Oxfam’s humanitarian mandate, long-term development programs, advocacy and campaigns, and influencing as well as operational oversight to line report offices. Provide high-level support and representation for advocacy, fundraising, and any other representational purposes in support Oxfam’s work and interests in the region, ensuring gender justice and feminist principles are adopted in the region. Responsible and accountable for the strategic direction of the LAC Region, ensuring it is based on sound context analysis and political dialogue on regional trends with internal and external stakeholders. Ensures that our strategies are appropriate and agile strategies to face increasingly volatile and complex environments, optimizing the strength and diversity of Oxfam in the region.

Who we’re looking for

Our next Regional Director for Latin America and Caribbean will have deep knowledge of LAC socio-political and economic trends, with a deep understanding of the different dimensions of inequality in a multi-ethnic context and shrinking civic space. S/He will have an understanding of global dynamics as they relate to the LAC region and track record of living and working in LAC, with a wide range of thematic exposure, in various LAC sub-regions, including the humanitarian sector. S/He will have experience in leading and managing complex change processes and relationships involving a wide range of both internal and external multicultural stakeholders across a variety of disciplines and geographical areas.
