Job Overview:
Based in Tapachula, Child Minders (3 positions) are responsible for supervising, nurturing, and caring for young children while their parents/caregivers participate in cultural orientation sessions.
 
Key Working Relationships:
Position Reports to: Cultural Orientation Senior Trainer
Position supervises: no one, but must interact respectfully with all persons
 
Responsibilities
  • Nurture and care for children while parents attending training sessions.
  • Interact with children in a positive manner.
  • Organize activities that stimulate children’s intellectual, physical, social and emotional learning.
  • Supervise and monitor the safety of children at all times.
  • Prepare and serve food and supervise children during snack- and meal-times; wipe hands and mouths before and after meals.
  • Ensure staff and children practice good hand-washing techniques.
  • Keep the area and equipment clean and safe throughout the day.
  • Comfort children when they are crying.
  • Supervise children while they are playing inside, outside or on a playground.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Observe IRC’s Standards for Professional Conduct.

 

Profil

 

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma
  • 3+ years’ child-care experience
  • Caring and compassionate attitude a must
