Job Description

HSE:

  • Implement and reinforce the HSE policy of the affiliate and ensure compliance with all relevant Statutory and Company SHE standard
  • Specialist in the application of safety engineering concepts throughout the complete life cycle of the projects in the Affiliate, from Conceptual definition up to Decommissioning
  • Ensure safety and environmental protection regulations and instructions are part of the basis for process safety studies
  • Ensure HSE Risk Management Process (audits, anomalies, downgraded situation) are done with effective risk assessment
  • Ensure DGS and audits cards issued with actions related to his Discipline are treated with adequate priority

Process Safety & Major Risks

  • Custodian for Technological Risk Management Process for Major Modifications and 5 years update revision
  • Custodian in process modifications giving advice and support in terms of process safety engineering to Operational and Projects teams
  • Ensure site awareness of Major Risk Register and bridging of emergency response plan against contractor philosophy
  • Ensure that Risk Evaluation is systematically carried out for Critical Operations (SIMOPS, etc.) and for Major Modifications
  • Identify all Safety & Environment Critical Elements in regards to Major Accident scenarios
  • Contribute in the development of the Safety Concepts to be applied in the design of new projects
  • Collaborate in the execution of consequence analysis studies (hazardous area, layout, dispersion, etc.) – Custodian of HAZOP, HAZID studies within affiliate
  • Define actions plans following internal and external audits linked with technological risks and safety engineering issues which HSE Division is responsible
  • Elaborate safety engineering procedures – Support to safety engineer network to guarantee compliance with Company Referential, and international standards

Audits 

  • Develop planning & Carry out regular Process Safety audits (isolation, inhibition, LO/LC)
  • Affiliate representative (point of contact) for any audit (internal, HQ or external) for Process Safety

Management System & Interfaces:

  • Sustain and promote One MAESTRO Principle #4 in the affiliate
  • Participate and contributes to the elaboration of LTP (Integrity & Major Risks)
  • Develop & maintain Process Safety policy for affiliate

Others:

  • Act as substitute for Technical Integrity & Major Risk Manager, as necessary and following a formal delegation of authority

Context and environment

Asset Integrity Management is a transverse function, dealing with high diversity of activities and disciplines, requesting a good sense of judgment to recommend and validate solutions suited to local environment and business constraints. The position requires extended and solid experience in various disciplines in order to ensure adherence of all stakeholders to the objectives.
LAPA Field consists of an FPSO originally designed under technical referential from previous operator, leading to several L1 TRA scenarios, L1 audits findings and L1 Major Integrity Threats that affiliate have to safely resolve.

Candidate profile

Education:

  • Facilities or Oil & Gas Engineer / Operation types (surface operation, production supervision, engineering)
  • Professional experience in the oil & gas industry.
  • Good knowledge of process safety and technological risk management is highly recommended. Any offshore experience is appreciated

Technical skills:

  • Safety of people, environment and facilities, Basic Oil & Gas production & process, Process Safety

Behaviour Skills:

  • Dynamism, openness, rigour, team spirit, multiculturalism, result orientated

Language skills:

  • English – Bright 3 or equivalent.
  • Portuguese is highly recommended
