Job Description

  • Lead, monitor and implement the company’s H3SE policies, procedures and program across the region in SEA
  • Develop relevant H3SE procedures and templates in local language with integration of country specificities, based on Company procedures.
  • Support the SEA Managing director, Chief Operating Officer, and Head of Project Management in their HSE Responsibilities for the region
  • Ensure compliance by all project contractors to all relevant legislation and statutory requirements, with the support of project managers
  • Qualify new contractors on HSE point of view, review the HSE performance of contractors after each project.
  • Review HSE Plans, Procedures, Method Statements, Risk assessments for the projects, & all Health, Safety & Environment related documentation to ensure compliance with Group and local requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections of construction sites or maintenance areas to make sure that the activities are executed as per the HSE plan and procedures.
  • Identify potential hazards & recommend solutions at all stages of projects, including design review, guide business teams in populating the Corisk matrix for top management approval.
  • For ground mounted projects, perform environmental screening of projects at early stage of development and supervise ESIA studies.
  • Monitor implementation of environmental and social mitigation measures during construction and O&M phases.
  • Assist Project Managers to implement improvement & prohibition notice to contractors and set up recommendation & corrective action (including close out monitoring).
  • Lead accidents & incidents investigations.
  • Ensure proper HSE training of Company staff, organize HSE promotion events such as World Day for Safety & Environment.
  • Make sure of the proper availability and working condition of safety equipment.
  • Collect relevant information and report H3SE data.
  • Ensure the best communication and use of internal REX and good practices between countries & Hub’s
  • Contribute to the main accident investigations (Hipos, etc.). Validate quality and completeness of the investigation dossier
  • Control the updating of alert process, the reactivity of sites and ensure assistance to countries in the event of a crisis

  • HSE is a priority issue and main concern for the Group: people and assets protections and our activities acceptance
  • Contractor works management is a risky activity
  • SEA is a large geographical area with countries / contractors at vastly different levels of safety awareness.  As the business expands, new countries in the Asia region may be added to the business.
  • Globally the environment is complex, and coordination is always a challenge. The diversity poses a major threat that often requires creative and innovative and adapted approaches to meet the business objectives in each country
  • The position demands a good level of technical expertise and personal adaptability capacity.
  • Multiple projects in multiple countries will be implemented simultaneously and must all be kept safe.

Candidate profile

  • 10 to 12 years of professional experience involving at least 5 years in a HSE and/or project management position.
  • Experiences in the solar / renewable energy sector will be a plus.
  • Precision and zero compromise/tolerance approach on HSE and technical excellence must be proven.
  • Proven autonomy and ability to manage high level contacts are required.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to be part of several project teams at a time, commitment to ethics and values, punctual, mindful and competent in adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Fluent in English is a must
