Would you like to use your driving skills to make a difference to people living in crisis?

We are looking for a Van Driver to assist in collecting / delivering furniture and general stock donations for our charity shop in Llantwit Major.

In this hands-on role, you will be an integral part of the area shop network, by helping to develop and grow stock generation contacts, seizing local opportunities and promoting the Red Cross as the charity of choice for stock donations.

For this role you will need to be a full driving licence holder with a driving licence which allows you to operate a manual transmission vehicle (you will be driving a British Red Cross vehicle, so please note that, due to vehicle insurance policy requirements, applicants must have held their licence for a minimum of two full years). As driving is a feature of this position, appropriate driver checks will be completed in line with current organisational policy.

Say hello to the team…

Helping people in crisis begins at your local charity shop.

Our 330 shops across the UK are home to over 6,500 volunteers and 700 paid staff.  Our team is bright and bubbly, and we love meeting people from all walks of life.

We want to make sure everyone that visits us has a great experience, and we never forget the contribution our shops make to helping those in crisis.

The Van Driver will work closely with the local shop managers, shop staff and volunteers, acting as the first point of contact for shops in relation to matters of stock generation, stock transfer, collection and disposal.

This role might be for you if…

You’re a confident and safe driver, with previous van driving and delivery experience. You have a full and current driving licence and knowledge of current legislation.

You know your way around a vehicle – you have previous experience of basic vehicle maintenance and can keep paperwork updated e.g. mileage logs.

You’re physically able to lift and carry loads (within Health and Safety Manual Handling criteria)

You thrive on delivering excellent customer service.

The closing date for applications is 27th March, with interviews to follow thereafter.

Please note that early application is encouraged, as we’ll be reviewing applications throughout the advertising period and reserve the right to close the advert in advance of the advertised closing date.
