Multiple Procurement Portfolio Manager Opportunities

 

The Opportunity:

You will be responsible for leading a team that will develop, manage and execute multiple Group wide procurement category strategies.

The 3 roles support portfolios in

• IT
• Engineering
• General Business.

These senior opportunities are a combination of leadership and coaching but involve hands-on execution of tasks. You will be a forefront of strategy development and provide senior expertise in all significant negotiations to achieve commercially optimum outcomes

 

Key Accountabilities

• Accountable for the agreement and execution of Group wide category strategies in consultation with business segment stakeholders.
• Work closely with their category teams, providing expertise and guidance on the development of category strategies as necessary.
• Ensuring that category strategies support the overall Procurement strategy and delivery of business strategies.
• Manage a team of Category Management Specialists ensuring they are provided with appropriate coaching, mentoring and development.
• Ensuring appropriate development and performance management activity is carried out for their teams.
• Be accountable for benefits tracking and reporting for their portfolio of categories,
• Leading and ensuring continuous improvement programs are implemented and tracked, leading team engagement and development, and promoting to, and educating the broader business with regard to Procurement methods and policies.
• Act as a key senior client relationship lead, establishing and maintaining relevant stakeholder relationships to ensure that they are consulted and informed as appropriate.

 

What you need to be successful:

• Tertiary qualifications in commerce / accounting / business
• 10+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, category management and procurement experience,
• Minimum 5 years leading category and / or supplier management teams
• Expert influencing, communication and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrates the ability to Influence and persuade senior stakeholders, build effective on-going business relationships, lead multiple complex high value negotiations and coach negotiation teams
• Strong leadership skills with demonstrable ability in managing teams to deliver on complex projects, coaching and mentoring staff development, delivering outcomes in a time sensitive environment and Project Management / Change Management
• Demonstrable commercial expertise with a clear understanding of the drivers affecting business.  Demonstrates a passion for and a clear track record of delivering commercially astute outcomes.
• Complex business case development and financial modelling principles to enable critical analysis of Procurement and business-led initiatives.
• Outstanding presentation skills and strong computer literacy skills
• Expert-level understanding of category strategy development and its alignment with overall business goals and strategies.
