CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR THE ZAMBEZI INTEGRATED AGRO – COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

The Republic of Botswana has received financial Grant from the African Development Bank towards the cost of the Consultancy Services for the Zambezi Integrated Agro – Commercial Development Project and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for Consultancy services for the Zambezi Integrated Agro – Commercial Development Project. Proceeds of the Grant are used exclusively for procurement of goods produced in, and services supplied from, the territories of the Member States of the African Development Bank.

The services included under this project include: (i) updating the existing Feasibility Studies for the Project and include a feasibility of a reservoir along with an Environmental Impact Assessment as well as a complementary climate risk assessment; and (ii) if required thereafter, procure a Public Private Partnership Partner. The feasibility study update is expected to be completed within a period of nine (9) months and the private party procurement is expected to be completed in eleven (11) months (excluding approvals).

The Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food Security (MoA), Department of Crop Production now invites eligible consultants to express their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification.

Interested parties should submit the following:

  • A brief company profile to include: type of service offered, corporate status including shareholding, domestic, regional and international associations
  • Capability of the organisation:
  • Back-up resources or affiliations;
  • Names of previous and current clients who may be contacted as referees;
  • Office resources including number of staff,
  • Curriculum vitae of all personnel who will be involved as principals and the citizenship or current residency status of each of the proposed personnel; nature of any work previously done; and any other information considered specifically relevant.
  • Organisational structure showing the roles and responsibilities of each key and supporting personnel ;
  • Brief methodology which shall cover the understanding of the objectives, approach to tasks or assignments and work plan.

Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s “Procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded Operations”, dated October 2015 which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.

 Tenderers must be from territories of the Member States of the African Development Bank.

  • Tenderers who are domiciled in Botswana must, in order to be considered for short-listing, be registered with the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Board in any one of the following categories:
  • Code: 303 – (Civil Engineering Services), Sub-Code: 03- (Infrastructure) or Sub-Code: 04 (Civil /Structural Engineering) or Sub-code: 08 (Irrigation); OR
    • Code: 311 (Project Management Services), Sub-Code: 01 (General Project Management) or Sub-Code: 02 (Construction Project Management);OR
    • Code: 314 (Finance Related Services), Sub-Code: 01 (Finance Management) or Sub Code 06 (Auditing Services) or Sub Code 07: (Accounting Services);OR

For International Bidding, bidders must have certified copies of constitutive documents defining the legal status and place of registration of the bidder in the country of origin.

Expressions of Interest must be delivered to the address below by 17 September 2021 at 10:00 Hours (CAT) and mention Consultancy Services for the Zambezi Integrated Agro – Commercial Development Project.
