EQHA COVID-19 Research Officer

The Enhancing Quality of Healthcare Activity (EQHA) is a five-year program funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and led by FHI 360. EQHA aims to strengthen national and provincial health systems and engage public and private healthcare managers and providers in Cambodia to collaboratively improve the quality and safety of health services, strengthen systems and increase service utilization.  Since March 2020, EQHA has been supporting RGC in COVID-19 response efforts.

EQHA is seeking a Research Officer to conduct and supervise a range of research project related to COVID-19 and Quality Improvement and work with Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) team to ensure the project remains on schedule. This position is intended for 12-18 months with a possibility of extension. Research Office reports to EQHA’s COVID-19 Director and M&E Technical Advisor.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with MOH (DHS, C-CDC, NIPH) and EQHA to develop research work plans according to project needs
  • Develop research protocol and tools for qualitative and quantitative study and ensure ethical approval
  • Organize, carry out and supervise research related activities for assigned projects and ensure data quality
  • Perform quantitative data analysis for existing secondary data set and primary data using statistical software such as STATA, SPSS, or Excel and perform quality data analysis of data conducted through interviews, FGDs, IDI or workshop
  • Produce high quality and varied research outputs for a range of audience including analysis, report writing and presentation as necessary.
  • Take responsibility for data and project management and administrative as it relates to delivering work.
  • Participate in routine project meetings and actively inform project leadership of implementation challenges
  • Contribute to development of project deliverables (e.g., quarterly reports or project workplans) including development of success stories and best practices

Qualifications

  • BA in social science, development program, public health or other related degree
  • At least five (5) years of experience in designing and implementing both quantitative and qualitative for USAID-funded or other donor-funded projects preferred
  • Experience of quantitative and statistical data analysis using STATA or SPSS or other statistical software
  • Previous experience with public health and working with government health programs is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders (e.g, government personnel, USAID and project partners)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English​
