Department, ready to work across the national territory. The position is based in Douala and graded as follows:

Job level : 9 _ Job grade: 4A

Job purpose :

He / She will be Responsible for managing all areas of Bank operations;

The incumbent will direct & manage back office support and branch operations to ensure that service levels are maintained and business requirements are met.

Key responsabilities :

  • Ensure that all operations of the bank are carried out in an orderly and efficient manner to ensure excellent service to customers in order to reduce frequency of customer complaints reduce cost, meet customer expectation and turnaround time ;
  • Supervise Clearing, Trade, card and digital operations Transfer and Rapid Transfer, TRops and Loans, to ensure they manage their respective services for the achievement of the bank’s goals ;
  • Work with Sales departments to ensure that efficient service to customers ;
  • Review the reports submitted by the supervised departments to ensure that all operational challenges like long outstanding un-reconciled items are followed up for their resolution ;
  • Work with other departments to ensure that the banks business continuity plan is updated and tested as required by policy ;
  • Work with other stakeholders to ensure that the banks processing are documented and these documentations updated regularly ;
  • Ensure that regulators external auditor’s regulators, internal auditors are given the necessary support in the area of logistics and explanation of quires on operational areas ;
  • Work towards automation of processes in supervised departments ;
  • Ensure processes are all documented and comply to both corporate policies and Local regulations ;
  • Check and authorize all transactions in the system (SWIFT, FLEXCUBE, SYGMA etc…).

Job scale :

Reporting to : Head of Operations and Technology

Direct reports : All Heads of Operational Units (Cash Management, Retail ops, Trade, Ops Control, Trops & Loans and Card & Digital Ops)

Job objective :

Improve quality of services and the bank productivity in order to participate in the achievement of the bank’s goals.

Profil :

Expérience :
  • University Degree plus Professional qualification ;
  • Minimum 6 years experience in the banking environment ;
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in banking operations ;
  • Good knowledge of Banking SYSTEMs and computer literate ;
  • Excellent knowledge of banking regulations and rules ;
  • Good management skills.

Education  :

  • Masters level in Management or Social Sciences ;
  • Mastering the current FX regulation, banking regulations, Trade rules ;
  • Good knowledge of SWIFT, SYGMA, SYSTAC ;
  • Good knowledge of policies & procedures and ability to update them to comply with all relevant regulations ;
  • Excellent English & French.
