NOTICE FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

Preparation of a Market Study on the willingness to use and demand for Adaptation Benefits to support adaptation to climate change in Africa

  1. The African Development Bank (AfDB) – Climate Change and Green Growth Department (PECG), PECG.1 division hereby invites Consulting Firms to indicate their interest to undertake the assignment: Preparation of a Market Study on the willingness to use and demand for Adaptation Benefits to support adaptation to climate change in Africa ;
  2. The study has two main objectives: a) to assess interest in and demand for Adaptation Benefits as a means of contributing towards the Adaptation goal of the Paris Agreement and / or fulfilling CSR or philanthropic mandates; b) In the process, the study will also serve to raise awareness of the ABM amongst stakeholders and particularly potential off – takers for Adaptation Benefits ;
  3. The consulting firm is expected to conduct stakeholder mapping exercise and compile potential off-takers database/list. The firm is also expected to develop questionnaires that are aimed at informing the stakeholders about the ABM as well as gathering the required inputs for the market study  ;
  4. Interested eligible firms or associations of firms shall provide information on their qualifications and experience while demonstrating their ability to successfully provide the services (documentation, references for similar services, experience in similar assignments, availability of qualified staff, etc.) ;
  5. The eligibility criteria, the establishment of a short list and the selection procedures shall be in conformity with the Presidential Directive No 02/2012 concerning the Procedures for Acquisition of Consulting Services funded by the Administrative or Capital Expenditure Budget of the Bank Group and its Implementation Manual which are available for consultation on AfDB’s website at afdb.org. The selection procedure will be based on Quality and Cost Based Selection Method (QCBS), and a shortlist of six (6) firms which present the best profiles shall be drawn up after the expression of interest. Please note that interest expressed by a Consulting Firm does not imply any obligation on the part of the Bank to include the firm in the shortlist ;
  6. The assignment is expected to last for a period of 6 months and the estimated starting date is 15th November, 2020. Interested consultants can obtain further information at the e-mail addresses mentioned below during the Bank working hours ;
  7. Expressions of interest must be delivered via email to the addresses below no later than 10th of September, 2020 at 17:00 hour Abidjan local time and must be clearly marked : “Preparation of a Market Study on the willingness to use and demand for Adaptation Benefits to support adaptation to climate change in Africa” ;
  8. The working language shall be English.
