Background:

The Office of the Secretary’s main function is to provide services for the IDB and IIC Boards of Governors and Boards of Executive Directors (including their standing committees), the MIF Donors Committee, and senior management. For regular and special meetings of these governance bodies the Office of Secretary (SEC) in addition to the preparation and conduct of the meetings, also provides advisory assistance and logistical support as needed.

 

The team’s mission:

The Information Systems and Digital Innovation section (ISD) designs, participate in development, and maintains information systems supporting the business processes of all the sections within the Office of the Secretary, as well as the information systems used during the Annual Meetings of the IDB and IIC Boards of Governors and manages and maintains the required technology infrastructure.

Participates in the definition of the technical requirements (equipment, telecommunications, network, and audiovisual) of equipment and services required for the Annual Meeting of the Boards of Governors in coordination with other sections of SEC and the Information Technology Department (ITE).

 

What you’ll do:

The position will be responsible for the following duties among others:

  • Create reusable code and libraries for future use.
  • Provide maintenance and support for currently existing systems.
  • Participate in the execution of the Digital Transformation projects and activities, including system & integrations development, testing and implementation.
  • Provide post-implementation support to users for the modification of processes and the solutions of production problems.
  • Introduce new technologies in pilot implementations to test their value and accelerate their effective deployment and implementation.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently on the assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Act as a team player with ability to work and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and a variety of roles.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, demanding, collaborative team on multiple projects at any given time
  • Build long-term client relationships and leverage those relationships to make workflow more efficiently.
  • Actively participate in the innovation and experimentation projects of the new SEC Lab.E

What you’ll need:

  • Citizenship:  You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.
  • Experience: 5 years of relevant experience           
  • Languages:  You are proficient in English and Spanish. Working knowledge of French and/or Portuguese is desirable

 

Core and Technical Competencies:

  • Programming Languages: ASP.NET, C#, JavaScript, Microsoft SharePoint, Swift.
  • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including Angular2 and jQuery
  • Experience in iOS apps development is highly desirable
  • Solid knowledge in software systems’ design
  • Knowledge of one or more modern JavaScript frameworks/libraries such as TypeScript, Ember, Knockout, Underscore, Require JS, Kendo UI, AngularJS, jQuery, Knockout JS, BackboneJS, ReactJS, Vue.js etc.
  • Hands-on experience with scalable web application and responsive web design 
  • Databases: SQL Server. Experience in MongoDB is desirable.
  • Operating systems: Microsoft Windows, Linux OS

Other: knowledge of Jira, Git, Scrum methodology.
