Pre-Employment Testing Required

ExxonMobil is currently seeking Lab Tester personnel to work at its Beaumont (BMRF) Plant. This Operations and Mechanical (O&M) position requires a pre-employment assessment.  Both experience and entry-level candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. After applying applicants will receive the Phase I Online Assessment via email. Please check all email folders (inbox, spam, etc.) for this communication. Applicants MUST complete the pre-employment assessment byTuesday, June 23, 2020 @ 11:59 PM CST. Applicants who do not complete the required assessment by the un-post date or who completes it after the date will be disqualified from consideration for this open position.

 

  • NEW applicants must complete the assessment before the requisition close date.
  • RETURNING applicants with unexpired test results MUST map exisiting test results to each application submitted by accessing the test link. You WILL NOT have to re-test.
  • INELIGIBLE applicants that re-apply prior to their assessment score expiration date will be automatically disqualified from consideration.
    • Assessment results are valid for one (1) year and ineligible applicants MUST wait the mandatory year before retesting or reapplying for U.S. Operations and Mechanical (O&M) job postings that require pre-employment testing.

Job Role Summary

A  Lab Tester is responsible for performing tests according to specified methods in a safe and accurate manner.

Primary Job Functions

  • Performs various chemical and physical property testing using processes such as induction, combustion, distillation, filtration, titration, phase transition and other ExxonMobil accepted industry standards.
  • Reviews summary reports and mitigates any outstanding samples.
  • Becomes proficient in the use of the computerized Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Tests statistical quality control (SQC) check samples as required and takes appropriate action for out of control results.
  • Records test results accurately and completely as required by Quality Practices & Guidelines and Data Integrity Assurance Framework.
  • Checks calibration frequency on designated instruments/equipment and calibrates as required.
  • Performs preventive maintenance, glassware cleaning, and good laboratory housekeeping.
  • Maintains instruments/equipment as required by the preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Communicates testing issues to First Line Supervisor, completes proper paperwork, and resolves any issues.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating shift.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform calculations and scientific conversions.
  • Ability to routinely move canisters weighing up to 20 pounds from a cart to a countertop both waist-height.
  • Ability to perform general troubleshooting of testing equipment.
