Descriptions

Under the overall supervision of Asia-LAC Team’s Public Partnerships Manager, the Intern will work closely under the team’s Public Partnerships Consultant to provide support, including logistics and administrative, in the work in partnership development and engagement, resource mobilization, and strategic analyses of the team. Main tasks include:

  1. Data in Resource Mobilization:
  • Assist the team in monitoring contributions to UNICEF from countries in the Asia-LAC regions, and issuing acknowledgements to partners. Use financial databases to collect relevant data and generate updated information on the status of Regular Resources and Other Resource contributions to facilitate proper contribution management.
  1. Support for Partnerships Development and Engagement: 
  • Support in preparing for partner engagement activities including high-level meetings, through scheduling meetings with partners and helping in preparations and note-taking.
  • Facilitate the convening of high-level meetings, including the UNICEF security clearance for VIP guests.
  • Support in detailed tracking and maintaining of databases, including the government partner contact lists, archiving digitally working records and files on contributions management, agreements, partner engagements, Sharepoint files, and UNISON system.
  1. Analytical support:
  • Support the Partnerships Consultant in tracking and sharing emerging trends and directions through mapping exercises and documentation as needed for the regions in the Asia LAC portfolio.

Qualification

  • Currently enrolled in or finishing a bachelor’s degree programme in an undergraduate school in the areas of international relations, communications or international development.
  • Relevant internship experience in public affairs, communications, government affairs, logistics or other relevant areas will be an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.

Visa Requirements:

Individuals are personally responsible for obtaining any required visa, covering the entire period of their internship. If necessary, UNICEF will support the process by providing relevant documents such as the proof of internship.

For internships in the US, the candidate needs to be eligible for a G4 Visa, Curricular Practical Training (CPT), be a Green Card holder or US Citizen.
