Responsibilities

This position will play an active role in the development and distribution of educational materials and the implementation of tactics to help the Wild Classroom team meet their programmatic goals.

  • Assist with the creation and development of engaging and inclusive educational content. This could include written curriculum, student material (readings, games, quizzes), educational videos, live events, and more.
  • Support the development of promotional and written content for the Wild Classroom program. This may include:
    • Regular updates to wildclassroom.org and web stories
    • Emails to our WWF educator community
    • Social media posts
    • Presentation decks
    • Internal communication
  • Contribute innovative and creative ideas to expand the program’s reach and engage K-12 educators from a variety of learning backgrounds, experiences, and geographic locations.
  • Work directly with members of the marketing and communication teams and program teams on education projects and collaborations with internal and external partners.
  • Stay up to date and report to team on trends in the education field and successful learning/teaching strategies.
  • Handle administrative duties for the Wild Classroom team such as monitoring the Wild Classroom email inbox and responding to relevant emails or forwarding to appropriate team members.
  • Monitor and analyze data from user analytics and survey results. Report feedback to team to help improve the program
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Current enrollment or a completed bachelor’s degree, preferably in education or environmental sciences
  • Experience in teaching youth, formally or informally
  • Experience in developing curriculum, to be used in a formal or informal education setting
  • Experience in (or interest in learning) webpage coding/management
  • Demonstrates exceptional organizational skills, ability to multitask, attention to detail, writing ability, verbal communication skills, and creative and innovative thinking
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office tools; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and coding appreciated
  • Takes initiative, and is a proactive self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team
  • Committed to the mission, goals, and values of WWF and is passionate about education and conservation
  • Available full-time (35 hours per week) for a minimum of 3 months, with opportunity to extend up to a year
