We are looking for a Superintendent Mining Engineering who will be responsible for leading & building the site mining engineering team (planning and production roles) and the mine survey team. The role will also be accountable for the development and implementation of the all of the mine planning and survey technical systems/processes as we commence mining operations. Reporting to the Manager Technical Services and working in the Mine Technical Services team on site the incumbent will be responsible for leading & building the site Mining Engineering and Mine Survey team and being accountable for the development and implementation of the all of the technical systems/processes whilst working with the operations team. The role will also provide leadership for the site Technical Services team in the form of Leadership in the Field and technical and professional coaching and mentoring

This role supports site operations and managing the delivery of:

  • Mine planning (short to medium term) – ensuring alignment to 5 year plan;
  • Grade control processes to deliver product to the rail system;
  • Operations planning (drill & blast and development planning);
  • Mine survey and control services to mine production.

What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team;
  • Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering or relevant qualifications/experience;
  • Experience in large scale mining operations of +7 years leading mine planning teams;
  • Detailed knowledge of mine planning processes and mine operations;
  • Capability in French and English language (written and or spoken) is considered advantageous;
  • Success in this role requires a high degree of attention to detail, a problem-solving focus, as well; as analytical skills, relationship building and communication skills;
  • Strong leadership skills including fostering effective teamwork and leveraging capability across different groups.
