This is a full-time role based remotely in India.

This is a limited-duration position with an expected end date of December 31, 2025.

DAY-TO-DAY TASKS will include:

  • Provide administrative and programmatic support to EJN projects in India, both those carried out through Internews US as well as those carried out by Internews Europe (and potentially other Internews entities).
  • Support the EJN India Manager and team with various tasks including:
    • Keeping indicators from India and South Asia projects updated on EJN spreadsheets;
    • Liaising with institutional and story sub-grantees to obtain financial reports on time;
    • Checking financial reports in consultation with Project Manager and colleagues in Internews;
    • Onboarding subgrantees; and
    • Ensuring all subgrantees adhere to agreed-upon timelines and keeping record of stories produced by subgrantees.
  • Use social media platforms to popularize training workshops, fellowship calls, webinars and story grant calls for all projects.
  • Help organize in-person workshops and webinars by arranging speakers and participants, organizing logistics and field trips, and following up with participants and other tasks as needed.
  • Assist, monitor, and support trainers working with Internews in key Indian states.
  • Plan and manage logistics for events. Tasks may include but are not limited to visa application support, airfare and lodging, and liaising with team members to coordinate travel.
  • Think of ideas for additional outreach in our coverage areas, be it by connecting with other media organizations or finding networks through which to spread our opportunities.
  • Draft newsletter updates on project activities.
  • Research and writing to produce impact stories.
  • Support India Manager to produce timely narrative reports on project activities.
  • Help editorial staff republish stories produced with project support.
  • Provide programmatic support to working groups and/or special projects, as needed.
  • There may be further opportunities to get involved with various tasks depending on the candidate’s skillset and preference.

QUALIFICATIONS WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Required

  • Three years’ prior relevant experience preferred, with a strong background in administration, social media management, and other forms of communication and outreach.
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet and data analysis software.
  • Understanding of the media and/or environmental landscape in India and ability to think out of the box on ways we can support it going forward.
  • Willingness to work and take meetings outside normal business hours.
