About WFP

The World Food Programme’s (WFP’s) policy engagement and technical assistance in the area of School Feeding aims to support the Government of Indonesia in achieving the key development priorities outlined in the 2020-2024 National Mid-Term Development Plan (RPJMN). Specifically, WFP aims to support the Government of Indonesia in the following objectives:

Objective 1: Support the National Government in establishing a National School Feeding Platform, School Feeding Policy Framework and in developing a National School Feeding Strategy

Objective 2: Support the National Government to develop a Social and Behaviour Change Communication Strategy for school children and enhance government implementation capacity

Objective 3: Support the National Government capacity to continue the innovative School Feeding best practices model through Public-Private-Partnerships

Drawing on WFP’s global and regional expertise, the WFP Indonesia Country Office will continue to support the Government of Indonesia in the above areas. Under the overall guidance of the WFP Indonesia Country Representative/Director and Deputy Country Director, and direct supervision of the School Feeding unit manager, the incumbent will support the School Feeding unit in consulting with relevant stakeholders for the achievement of the above objectives.

 

Standard minimum qualifications

  •    At least 5 years of professional experience in School Feeding.
  • Contributed to implementation of programmes and experience in project management, resource mobilization and partnerships.
  • Observed or assisted with policy discussions.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, good drafting skills, and ability to work in a team.

Organizational context

These jobs are found in Regional Bureaux (RBs), Country Offices (COs), Area/Field Offices (AOs/FOs). Job holders typically report to a Programme Policy Officer or Head of Field Office.
At this level, job holders are expected to demonstrate responsibility and initiative to respond independently to various queries with only general guidance. There is a requirement to use judgment in dealing with unforeseen operational problems on a daily basis. Job holders are expected to manage resources and coach and coordinate support staff.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
  • Provide technical support towards the establishment of the School Feeding National Platform.
  • Provide technical support for the processes of the School Feeding Policy Framework review, analysis and development of a new policy.
  • Provide technical support for the development of a School Feeding National Strategy.
  • Provide technical and administrative support to the Secretariat of the School Feeding National Platform (once established).
  • Provide technical support to the development of a Social and Behaviour Change Communication Strategy for school children.
  • Provide technical support towards private-sector- funded project implementation in designated areas.
  • Provide technical support to districts implementing School Feeding on a case-by-case basis.
  • Facilitate the organization of meetings between WFP staff and partners related to School Feeding.
  • Support preparation of funding requests, concept notes and other documents for internal and external partners.
  • Provide support to the preparation and timely submission of inputs for corporate reporting (including monthly WFP Country Briefs).
  • Within the specific area of expertise, undertake data collection and analysis, prepare talking points, briefs and other relevant documents as needed.
  • Liaise with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration and synergies of School Feeding-related activities.
  • Perform any other related functions as applicable and requested.
