The Role :

Oxfam GB – Iraq Program is looking for a  consultancy is to conduct a comprehensive desk review of the organization’s existing strategy and provide support in updating the existing strategy and /or  developing  a necessary strategy. Additionally, the consultant will offer coaching throughout the process to the project’s Workplan, Reporting, and Organizational Support (WRO) partners.

The capacity building activity seeks to support WROs to Increased organizational capacities for women’s rights organizations to develop new programs  and using different and improved styles of management, develops a vision that enables it to adapt to or remain inclusive and effective. And providing technical support to develop organizational policies and tools to ensure good governance and management of currents projects.

Furthermore, it  is part of the capacity building plan builds upon the  organizational baseline self- assement finding,  that took place at this inception of the project 2023.

We’re looking for a candidate who cares about Oxfam’s mission to end poverty and is personally aligned to our feminist principles and values of empowerment, accountability and inclusion in all you do.

An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have :

  • Strong knowledge and experience in providing strategic advice on organisational development to WROs organisations
  • Extensive experience in strategy development, preferably in the Human right and feminist movement.
  • Strong understanding of gender dimensions in organisational development, e.g. through experience in gender mainstreaming not only in projects but in structural institutions, gender audits, WRO strategic and leadership support,
  • Strong background in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) principles and practices. Feminist MEAL is preferable.
  • Demonstrated expertise in coaching and providing guidance to diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and report writing skills.
  • Familiarity with the organization’s area of work is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of project/programme cycle management
  • Familiarity with interventions aiming to end gender-based violence in Iraq; overall knowledge of technical standards and organisational requirements for providers of SGBV protection services, familiarity with advocacy efforts on SGBV/against VAWG; understanding of issues of safety, confidentiality and ethical requirements in the work around SGBV
  • Fluency in English and Arabic
  • Ability to travel
  • Familiary with Oxfam’s mission; adherence to the organizational code of conduct and safe programming principles
  • Available to travel to Iraq, or in country in person.
