Organisation Mondiale de la Santé(OMS) recherche un(e) Administrateur(trice) national(e) professionnel(le) – Maladies évitables par la vaccination et immunisation (VDI), Laos.

 

 

 

 

 

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

  1. Assists in the planning, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of the activities in the national workplan for VDI and Ministry of Health (MOH);
  2. Monitors VDI  programmes’ implementation, award management, budget updating and programme and donor reporting, and assists the unit in taking actions on programme management;
  3. Liaises closely with the relevant sections of National Immunization Programme (NIP), National Center for Laboratory and Epidemiology (NCLE) and MOH for timely provision of procured items and supplies required for the implementation of laboratory surveillance activities and makes necessary follow-up actions for timely implementation of the workplan activities;
  4. Supports the capacity-development of provincial VDI units in implementing and maintaining a monitoring system for inventory records at provincial and central level;
  5. Provides programme management support to the VDI unit, including a regular progress review of work plan implementation, organization of training, meetings and workshops with NIP, MOH and other partners, preparation for donor reporting, and coordination for periodic programme reviews/assessments;
  6. Maintains, updates and monitors information on project activities on the computerized database systems and generates reports as required;
  7. Supports the development of the legal framework of compensation for adverse events following immunization; and
  8. Performs any other tasks requested by the Head of the WHO Country Office (HWO) and/or WHO VDI Officer.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential: University degree in public management, public health or related sciences or equivalent professional training from a recognized university.
Desirable: Postgraduate degree in public management or public health from a recognized university.

Experience

Essential: At least  two years’ working experience at the national level in programme management, law or other health-related programmes.
Desirable: Previous work experience in World Health Organization, or nongovernmental organizations or international organizations is desirable.

Skills

  • Ability to prepare correspondence, summary of meetings and other documentation.
  • Advanced computer skills, ability to write reports both in English and Lao languages, conduct analysis on MS Excel.
  • Ability to work harmoniously as a team member, adapt to diverse educational and cultural backgrounds and maintain a high standard of personal conduct.

Language Skills

Essential: Strong written and spoken knowledge of English and Lao required.
Desirable: Other local language(s) is a plus.
