UNICEF Lesotho Country Programme 2019-2023 aims to improve the lives of children in the country. The programme focuses on three main outcomes, namely aimed at improving the lives of children in their first decade of life, second decade and in promoting social policy that can reduce child poverty and promote social inclusion. The programme I designed will focus on five goal area: improvingg access to healthcare and nutrition, increasing access to education, improving access to safe water and sanitation, protecting children from violence and exploitation, and strengthening systems for child protection, justice, and social welfare. UNICEF Lesotho is working with the government and other partners to ensure that the rights and well-being of children are protected and promoted, with a particular focus on vulnerable and marginalized children. The programme represents a significant commitment to creating a brighter future for all children in Lesotho.

Qualification : 
  • At least a master’s degree in anthropology, sociology, public/social policy, development economics or related field;
  • Current knowledge of key issues in international development policy, notably as these are related to social policies;
  • Demonstrated experience at analysing social programme costs, cost-benefit analyses, cost-effectiveness analyses;
  • Experience in analyzing taxation, fiscal incidence analysis; tax-benefit microsimulations
  • Excellent knowledge of STATA and other statistical packages.
