The DC Ops Remote Team is responsible for performing FOTS Coordination, Physical Security reporting, verifying the Site Profiles, Asset Disposal and DC Metrics reporting.

FOTS Coordination – Review and assign FOTS shutdown and equipment disposal requests for all regions.

Monitor FOTS Coordinator and FOTS Coordinator NA Queues.

 

Activities include:

FOTS Shutdown or Maintenance Requests: These requests cover any activity that has the potential to impact the function of the datacenters or their equipment.

  • Responsible for coordination of these non-EDC activities from receipt of the request through implementation of the resulting change, and related issue resolution.
  • Research potential impact to datacenter, gather information required to plan the Change ticket, create the Change ticket with supporting sub-tasks, and notify all stakeholders.
  • Work directly with the stakeholders to implement the change and ensure any issues encountered are properly addressed and escalated.
  • During the Change execution, coordinate process activities, investigate any delays or issues encountered, document and escalate as needed.
  • Coordinate with the customer and impacted support teams to: develop, test, and implement process adjustments to improve effectiveness and or efficiency; to accommodate changes to tools and related processes.
  • Physical Security – Verify that the non-enterprise data centers (DC) are not accessed by unauthorized individuals. Produce reporting and Field reminders to drive updates.
  • Periodic activities to be completed within specified timeframes and include Data Center Access Register – Verify that individuals with physical access to the DC are authorized and are active.
  • Request DCAR from location Security on a timely basis. If the DCAR doesn’t agree with IDMS, work with Security, location SDL and DC Ops to make DCAR agree with the IDMS report.
  • Uploads DCAR when DCAR agrees with IDMS.
  • IDMS Report – Document the individuals authorized to access the DC. Extract and upload IDMS report to appropriate website. Event Log – Review DC security events to report unauthorized access attempts. Obtain Event Log from location’s Security in a timely manner.
  • Notifies local Security of unauthorized access or attempted access.
  • Uploads file with appropriate comments to website.
  • Visitor’s Logbook – Insure the completeness and compliance of the Visitor’s Logbook. Performs periodic review of logbook, correcting missing/blank entries.
  • Report unauthorized access to Security.
  • Uploads files with appropriate notes (if required) to website.
  • Site Profile – Verify the integrity and accuracy of the Site Profile data for each location.
  • Performs basic datapoint checks as instructed in the Site Profile Audit document and instructs FOTS to make required updates.
  • As required, team will update Excel asset lists and Visio drawings to reflect changes in the DC. DC Metrics Reports – Produce DC Metrics reports showing statistics for Site Profile, Physical Security and Tape Management.
  • The Remote Team will drive DC Metrics production by producing reminder emails and progress reporting to the Field. Produce the DC Metrics reports using the appropriate website reporting tools.
  • Disposal Reporting – Produce weekly asset disposal reporting for use in DC Metrics reports.
  • Weekly status reporting to GDC FOTS Operations Team and customer management regarding Global Non-EDC Equipment Disposals.

 

 Job Requirements:

  • Required Skills, Experience, and Certifications Knowledge of Data Center operations and industry best practices.
  • Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level of II or above (CompTIA Security+)
  • A strong understanding of Visio, SharePoint, Office applications.
  • For Visio editing, 2+ years’ experience in Visio, preferably in supporting top-down and elevation drawings using manufacturer-specific stencils
