Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure provision of reliable and secure driving services by:
  1.  Driving office vehicles for the travel of authorized officials for official meetings and activities only, as well as delivery and collection of official mail, documents and other items.
  2. Pick & drop for the project officials and visitors at the airport as and when required;
  • Ensure cost saving by proper usage of the vehicle through accurate maintenance and to following fuel efficient driving, update of daily vehicle logs, provision of input to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports.
  • Ensure availability of required documents / supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle log, and office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts.
  • Ensures proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, car washing, etc.;
  • Ensure all immediate action required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement and accident.
  • Responsible for safe travel and comfort of passengers.
  • Maintains Log book for all official trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption, oil change, greasing etc.
  • Ensures that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accidents.
  • ensure compliance with UNDP’s rules and security measures/ advisories while operating in field.
Required Skills and Experience
Min. Education requirements Master’s Degree in Economics, Development, Public Policy or related field.
Min. years of relevant work experience 
  • 2 Years of relevant experience in undertaking research on local development issues that may include macro-economic stabilization, debt management, financial resilience and sustainable development.
Required  skills 
  • Excellent understanding of the national economic and social issues
  • Experience in undertaking research and producing data analytical pieces and facilitating organization and presentation at multi-stakeholder policy dialogues.
  • An excellent ability to plan, organize, implement and report on work
  • Outstanding communication, advocacy, presentation and facilitation skills (including virtual facilitation)
  • The ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Experience working with the UN is an advantage
Desired skills in addition to the competencies covered in the Competencies section
  • Substantial experience in social policy and development, understanding of issues that may include macro-economic stabilization, debt management, and financial resilience and awareness of SDGs related policy matters
  • Experience in collecting data through surveys, focus group discussions and key informant interviews.
  • Extensive experience in analysis of primary and secondary data, undertaking research and producing writing analytical pieces with some exposure to the usage of computers and MS Office software packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems and programmes for statistical analysis of data
  • Demonstrated experience of facilitating organization, conducting and/or presenting at multi-stakeholder policy dialogues.
Required Language(s)   Proficient in verbal and written English.
