Job Purpose

The Treasury Analyst: (i) provides programming, analytical and business intelligence reporting support to design, develop, enhance, and implement application and interface systems used by TD; (ii) implements changes necessary to support new business requirements, and (iii) increases the overall analytical capacity and efficiency of treasury operations and daily systems support to ensure smooth implementation of new functionalities and IT systems.

The incumbent will report to designated International Staff and senior National Staff.

Responsibilities

IT Systems Design, Development, Implementation and Maintenance

  • Participates in the design, development, and implementation of new systems, interfaces, and applications, always ensuring that TD requirements are adequate and satisfactorily met. Coordinates projects with oversight of team members.
  • Provides enhancement and maintenance (including testing, support, and issue resolution) of TD-wide system applications (including system interfaces) to support the internal stakeholders [i.e., end users from TD, Office of Risk Management, and Controller’s Department ].
  • Supports in the implementation of treasury core applications (such as Finastra Fusion Capital Summit, Numerix, and other similar vendor solutions) at technical and functional level.
  • Collaborates with other team members to understand how automation can improve workflow and propose innovative ideas and solutions.

Development, Enhancement, and Maintenance of Financial Projection and Derivative Modelling

  • Provides daily functional support of the applications [including data interfaces with the market data provider systems such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE)], analyzes, and troubleshoots issues and proposes solutions in a timely fashion to ensure reduced operational risk and minimum downtime.
  • Prepares ALM dashboard reports using business intelligence reporting tools.
  • Supports in the preparation of technical and functional specifications for systems development and document forms required for the application of new financial techniques and procedures.
  • Supports in the development of mathematical models and computer applications for financial projections, derivatives financing, and valuation.
  • Supports in the model validation tests covering data, assumptions, and algorithm. Investigates issues and proposes enhancements.
  • Optimizes the sourcing and coverage of market data from external providers such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Fenics, and ICE. Analyzes and troubleshoots issues and proposes solutions in a timely fashion to ensure reduced operational risk and minimum downtime to support the operations including settlement, pricing, portfolio valuation, and risk analysis. Ensures the integrity and quality of the reference market data.

Correspondence/Others

  • Assists in preparation of responses to queries from Management, other departments, and external parties (e.g., other Multilateral Development Banks, consultants, and vendors) on systems-related matters.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned and reflected in the incumbent’s work plan.

Qualifications

Relevant Experience & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Banking, Finance or related field
  • At least 5 years IT work experience in international banking operations, practices, and systems implementation; exposure to investment or borrowing operations
  • Working experience with relational database, such as Oracle and SQL Server, and Microsoft ODBC, Microsoft ActiveX Data Object
  • Working experience of treasury core applications (such as Finastra Fusion Capital Summit, Numerix, and other similar vendor solutions) and market data vendors (such as Bloomberg, Refinitv, ICE, and Fenics) at technical and functional levels
  • Sound knowledge of treasury operations covering areas such as financial markets, pricing of derivative instruments, market data, and trade life cycle
  • Ability to manage relationship with various stakeholders (business users, vendors), good communication and presentation skills for a wide audience
  • Working experience in software development with Visual Basic, C++ and Python
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office data management and business intelligence reporting tools such as Power BI and Tableau an advantage
