Educational Qualifications

  • Essential: Advanced University degree in social sciences, law, political science, business communications, marketing, management, economics, or international relations or related field from an accredited/recognized institute.

Experience

  • At least 7 years’ related experience, at the international level in developing and implementing resource mobilization and external relations activities;
  • Proven track record in engaging with donors, developing donor engagement plans, producing proposals and reports;
  • Proven experience in writing advocacy documents and the production of communication materials and products.

Skills and competencies

  • Ability to write well in English and produce engaging communication and advocacy material;
  • Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing; Strong interpersonal, representational, and organizational skills, with proven ability to facilitate and strengthen the involvement and collaboration of a broad range of internal and external partners for resource mobilization;
  • Independent highly motivated staff member with superior analytical, communication and negotiation skills with a track record of working at an international development organization;
  • Demonstrated ability to work in highly complex multicultural international organizations and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organizations;
  • Demonstrated success in mobilizing resources and contributing to managing donor relations;
  • Ability to conceptualize ideas and promote consensus;
  • Experience of presenting to a fundraising audience and providing capacity building training;
  • Experience of WHO or UN processes and procedures;
  • Ability to work under pressure and problem solve;
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and implement work, and to communicate ideas effectively.

Languages

Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English is essential. Working knowledge of French. Knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.
