Description

The International Water Management Institute (IWMI), a CGIAR Research Center, is looking for a competent, self-motivated and dynamic individual with a strong background in financial literacy and data analysis to join its finance department as a Data Analyst.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the integrity of data in various application software including the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify data quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support data cleansing and reconciliation of data across different systems.
  • Use financial literacy to understand the context and meaning of financial data to ensure data accuracy.
  • Provide guidance and support to the finance department on data governance-related matters.
  • Collaborate with information technology (IT) teams to implement data governance tools and technology solutions.
  • Distil vast amounts of financial data into understandable, actionable insights and transform these insights into a compelling visual presentation using Microsoft Power BI to cater to various management information requirements.
  • Design and develop financial dashboards to meet various donor financial reporting requirements.
  • Execute extraction, transformation and uploading of data from one ERP system to another.
  • Identify and communicate efficient ways to collect (e.g., templates), cleanse and maintain the data needed for data integration and migration.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science or a related field or equivalent related work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in designing, implementing and maintaining data integration for complex business systems.
  • Experience in working with financial and ERP systems preferred.
  • Experience with data migration and data migration tools desired.
  • Experience with Advanced Excel functions and Microsoft Power BI desired.
  • Experience with data cleansing and performing Quality Assurance on data desired.
  • Demonstrated understanding of information systems, business processes, and the key drivers and measures of success for the business.
  • Understanding of data storage, data backup/restore and identity management desired.
  • Experience in writing and executing test plans/test cases/scripts preferred.
  • Experience with automated test tools desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated integrity, independent thinking, judgment and respect for others.
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility and integrity.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Prior experience in using the following products:

  • SAP HANA;
  • Microsoft Power BI;
  • Microsoft Power Automate;
  • Microsoft 365;
  • Anaplan;
  • UNIT4 Agresso Business World.
