JOB PURPOSE:

Raise awareness about gender-based violence and child protection issues

Referral of vulnerable cases to specialized services

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:

  • Ensure the preparation of all logistical requirements for activities.
  • Assist in providing psychosocial support activities to beneficiaries.
  • Implement the plan set by the supervisor of psychosocial support sessions and awareness sessions.
  • Participate in setting sessions plans.
  • Write sessions reports.
  • Maintain the safety and security of beneficiaries and their psychological and physical well-being.
  • Provide a suitable environment for psychosocial support sessions and awareness sessions.
  • Monitor and refer cases of weakness to specialized service providers.
  • Facilitate and follow up on psychological, recreational, educational, and awareness-raising activities for women and girls inside the center and in targeted external locations.
  • Ensure that internal and external activities are carried out in accordance with cultural guidelines.
  • Provide the beneficiaries with information about services provided within the center.
  • Conduct home and personal visits for women as needed to increase awareness of services available through the Islamic Relief organization’s center.
  • Monitoring and reporting attendance at various center activities.
  • Women who have experience in knitting, sewing, drawing, or handicrafts have priority in applying for the job.
  • Women who have experience in teaching literacy lessons or women’s health have priority in applying for the job.
  • Perform any other duties required by supervisors.

Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications

  • University degree or institute certificate or equivalent is required.
  • Experience of not less than one year in a similar job is required.
  • Skills in one or more of the following activities: sewing – knitting – embroidery – handicrafts – literacy – foreign languages – literature – sports – arts.
  • Previous experience in teaching one of the above skills.
  • Previous experience in working in women’s or community centers
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Strong knowledge and commitment to humanitarian work standards.
  • Priority will be given to applicants with certificates in gender-based violence training and child protection principles.
  • Priority for applicants within the work areas.

Language

  • Good level in English;
  • fluent in Arabic (written and spoken).

IT skills

  • Good computer skills .
  • Proficiency in the internet and search tools.
  • Proficiency in MS office (Excel, Access and word)
