ABOUT THE CONSULTANCY

The main objective of this consultancy is to provide technical expertise and support to Solidarites International to mainstream protection considerations in their post-earthquake response activities in North-West Syria.

  • The consultant will be responsible for developing and implementing a protection mainstreaming strategy that will ensure that the organization’s response activities promote the protection and well-being of earthquake-affected populations.
  • The NWS Protection Mainstreaming Advisor will work under the supervision of the Deputy Country Director-Programs. He/She will be as such a part of coordination team.
  • The NWS Protection Mainstreaming Advisor position’s main objectives are to properly achieve the following global tasks:
  • Provide technical support and guidance to program teams on protection mainstreaming in all aspects of the response.
  • Work remotely with the program teams to conduct protection assessments, identify protection risks and develop appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Work closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation team to ensure that protection indicators are integrated into monitoring and evaluation plans.
  • Ensure that all program activities are conducted in a manner that is sensitive to gender, age, and diversity.
  • Develop and deliver training on protection mainstreaming to program teams and partners remotely.
  • Develop protection-related materials, such as guidelines, tools, and standard operating procedures remotely.

YOUR PROFILE

SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL invites applications for the provision of services as described above. Interested candidates must demonstrate they are qualified for the services, including:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field, such as social work, human rights, or international development.
  • At least five years of experience in protection mainstreaming in humanitarian contexts.
  • Familiarity with the humanitarian context in North-West Syria.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely.
  • Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are preferred.
