An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:

Essential

• Considerable, demonstrated, practical experience of security assessment, planning and implementation of procedures in the context of UN and/or NGO humanitarian operations,
• Proven, management, team building and team leadership experience, including managing, providing technical advice to dispersed security teams across the country
• Proven influencing and negotiating skills with internal and external audiences including in complex, stressful and high-pressure environments,
• Proven experience of field-based training.
• Excellent communication, coordination and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to remain calm under pressure and not lose sight of strategic priorities.
• A sound understanding of the importance of gender.
• Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to work in a wide variety of cultural contexts.
• Willingness to travel at short notice, and often in difficult circumstances.
• Team-working skills.
• Demonstrated skills: Attention to detail, organisation, report writing and numeracy.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to read the audience and adapt style
• Committed to Oxfam principles
• Fluency – speak and write in English: mandatory
