Background:

In line with SDG Target 10.3 and human dimension commitments related to non-discrimination declared in the CSCE/OSCE Copenhagen Document 1990, the Programme Office in Dushanbe (POiD) continues its support for enhancing the capacity of relevant Host Country actors to ensure the right to equality and the prohibition of all forms of discrimination in accordance with international human rights standards.

The work of the POiD’s Human Rights Unit addresses the broad need for greater awareness among state officials, civil society representatives and the public about human rights principles, as well as specific obligations of the state to protect human rights effectively.
