REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST – AIR CONDITIONING CONSULTANCY FIRM
- The Southern Africa Regional Development and Business Delivery Office of the African Development Bank (RDGS) is seeking the services of an Air Conditioning Consultancy firm for the design and supervision of a project to Upgrade the Air Conditioning System in the Bank’s Data Centre. The Data Centre is located within the Bank’s premises at 339 Witch-Hazel Avenue, Highveld, Centurion, RSA
- The Bank is a regional multilateral development institution, established to promote the economic and social development of its regional member countries (81 member countries) by mobilizing resources for the financing of projects and programs.
- The Bank hereby invites HVAC Consultancy firms to indicate their interest in the following Assignment: The Provision of HVAC Services in the Design and Supervision of the Data Centre Airconditioning Upgrade Project at the Southern African Regional Office (RDGS) as detailed below.
- The services to be provided under the Assignment include:
(i) Carrying out a detailed technical assessment of the existing air-conditioning system within the Bank’s Data centre ;
(ii) Preparation of comprehensive report on the condition of the HVAC system currently installed in the Data Centre, highlighting the shortcomings with the current system for meeting the Bank’s current air-conditioning load ;
(iii) Designing a suitable HVAC system capable of meeting the current air-conditioning requirements and the anticipated 30% future expansion ;
(iv) Preparation of preliminary and detailed designs and Bill of Quantities for the upgraded HVAC system, with a capability to ensure complete environmental control with automatic monitoring and control of cooling, heating, humidification, and dehumidification within the Data Centre ;
(v) Assistance in procurement of an HVAC contractor who will supply and install the new HVAC equipment as designed and specified by the Consulting firm (vi) Supervision of the works done by the selected contractor and (vii) participation in project commissioning and supervising the rectification of defects during a 12 months Defects Liability period following practical project completion and handover.
- The Bank’s General Services and Procurement Department (CHGS) invites suitably qualified and experienced HVAC Consulting Firms to indicate their interest in providing the above-mentioned services. Interested eligible Consulting Firms or associations of Consulting Firms shall, in no more than 15 pages, provide information on their qualifications and experience demonstrating their ability to provide the services (documentation, references for similar services, experience in comparable assignments, availability of qualified staff, etc.). Please note that the 15 pages must include all attachments.
- The eligibility criteria, the establishment of a short list and the selection procedure shall be in conformity with the Bank’s procedures for the acquisition of consulting services funded by the administrative or capital expenditure budget. Please note that interest expressed by a Consulting Firm does not imply any obligation on the part of the Bank to include it in the shortlist. The Bank will also not be required to give reasons for the rejection of any consulting firm.
- The estimated duration of the services is fifteen months, inclusive of 12 months Defects Liability Period and the estimated project start date is 14 June 2021.
- Expressions of interest must be received by email at the address below no later than Tuesday 25th May 2020, at 16:00hrs South African time and specifically mentioning the subject title above.
