The Scope

To support the business and product development, communication and marketing activities of the Climate & Ecosystem Services Programme, and to explore market opportunities and business models for FSC ecosystem services tools.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • To monitor trends and developments of ecosystem services and climate markets for FSC.
  • To coordinate and produce target-specific marketing, communications, and materials in collaboration with responsible departments.
  • To coordinate and implement projects to increase uptake of FSC ecosystem services tools.
  • To coordinate the event engagement efforts of the Climate & Ecosystem Services Programme, together with the Climate Engagement Programme.
  • To support the management of external communication channels of the program to engage with the corporate sector.
  • To manage internal communication channels to align activities within FSC International and Network Partners.
  • Any other task as assigned by formal supervisor and project work as assigned according to special organizational needs.

Qualification, Experience and Skills

Education and Training:

University degree or equivalent training or experience in a relevant field (for example Business Administration, Economics, Forest Products, Marketing, Communication)

Working Experience, Style and Skills:

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in one or more of the following: market development, payment for ecosystem services, corporate environmental responsibility programmes.
  • Basic knowledge of forest ecosystem services and climate markets.
  • Proven professional abilities in managing complex projects in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including experience in data analysis for market intelligence. Strong sense for diligence and accuracy.
  • Collaborative working style and team building skills.
  • Good time management skills, ability to perform well while handling simultaneously a number of functions.
  • Strategic thinking and a solution- and service-oriented attitude to work.

Computer Skills:

Experience with standard software packages (MS Office).

Language and Communication Skills:

  • Fluency in English.
  • Additional fluency in Spanish or French is a plus.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
