Job description

The A2ii is a unique global partnership working with insurance supervisors, development agencies, international insurance bodies and local entities with the mission to inspire and support insurance supervisors in promoting inclusive and responsible insurance. Our activities include knowledge generation, supervisory capacity building and advocacy in international forums. Created in 2009, the A2ii is the implementation partner of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) for financial inclusion. The A2ii enjoys the support of numerous partners and sponsors, including the IAIS, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands. The Secretariat of the A2ii is hosted by GIZ.

Your tasks

  • Research and create knowledge on regulation and supervision with a focus on inclusive insurance and emerging risks, including insurance in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals
  • Take the lead on different A2ii capacity building formats, including virtual dialogue events, online training modules, webinars and in-person trainings and workshops
  • Be a thematic lead in the A2ii team for the topic of InsurTech, Gender or Climate Risk/ Disaster Risk Management
  • Representation of the A2ii at relevant regional and global events and in IAIS
  • Representation of the A2ii at relevant regional and global events and in IAIS working groups

Your profile

  • Master’s degree in economics, finance, or other related fields;
  • Several years of relevant professional experience, gained in developing or emerging countries (is an advantage), with an insurance supervisory authority, in the insurance sector or a closely related field;
  • Working experience in international cooperation, ideally in the context of financial inclusion, financial regulation or a related area;
  • Project management experience;
  • Strong research, communication and drafting skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal, liaison and cross-cultural skills;
  • Business fluent in English, additional German or French are an advantage.

Notes

This job is suited to a full or a part-time position.

The willingness for frequent business trips is required.

In order to fulfill the company’s objectives, the willingness of employees for assignments at all GIZ locations in Germany and abroad is of high corporate interest.
