MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE 

The Policy & Advocacy Specialist – Corrupt Money Flows will:

  • contribute to the development of policy recommendations and influencing strategies to advance Transparency International’s advocacy and campaigns on dirty money;
  • track the work and activities of key targets, assessing and helping to create advocacy opportunities in this area;
  • help maintain or build relationships with key stakeholders;
  • create advocacy materials, including policy briefs, papers, speeches and articles;
  • coordinate national chapters’ participation in global policy and advocacy work on dirty money as well on support case-based advocacy planning;
  • contribute to the planning and tracking of progress, such as through fundraising concept notes and active engagement in organisational monitoring cycles;
  • communicate Transparency International’s positions and messaging to internal and external audiences, as necessary.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

In order to succeed in this role, candidates will need to meet the following:

  • university degree in public policy, political science, international affairs or another relevant field;
  • 5+ years of professional experience in anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, tax justice or a closely related field;
  • experience in advocacy, lobbying or public affairs a strong advantage;
  • excellent analytical skills, with demonstrated record of evaluating policies and designing recommendations;
  • strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders;
  • high level of intercultural competence, diplomacy and political sensitivity;
  • excellent verbal and written communication in English required;
  • strong organisational skills and ability to effectively manage priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment;
  • ability to work independently as well as part of a team;
  • demonstrated flexibility, initiative and creativity;
  • commitment to the values and principles of Transparency International.
