<span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>HIAS seeks a Payroll Officer to maintain payroll and cash receipts. The Payroll Officer will maintain accurate database/records of all payroll and bank transactions and ensure these are properly coded.

<span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>PAYROLL 

  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Assist in payroll processing and review preprocess reports.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Prepare files of employees’ deductions for upload.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Prepare payroll template for Anybill upload.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Assist in reviewing W2’s previews at year end.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Work with project teams to ensure the accurate review of timekeeping and payroll data and the timely approval and submission to our payroll partner.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Assist in applying for new state and SUI registrations when needed.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Ensure the timely creation of payroll related journal entries, support account reconciliations of key payroll accounts, and support accounting in month, quarter and year end close activities.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Support various internal and external audits and produce and analyze payroll reports to address any variances.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Process semi-monthly payroll and special payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Process time sheet corrections.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Verify, maintain and organize all payroll information and documentation (i.e. new hires, deductions, salary changes, leave processing, contributions, and terminations).
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Process data entry into HRIS and payroll systems.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Prepare payroll deduction remittances for bargaining units, business partners and providers.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Process payments, pay corrections, retros, and historical adjustments.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Compile statistical and period-end reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts, and reconciling payroll liability accounts
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Maintain employee electronic payroll files.

<span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE 

  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Download and clean contributions files from merchant services account, match to Raiser’s Edge reports and funds received in bank accounts.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Download DMP lockbox contributions reports and match to deposits received in bank accounts.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Enter match files for contributions into accounting system.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Download cash receipts reports from Collections and prepare for entry into accounting system.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Record daily contribution.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Reconcile disbursement bank account.

<span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>OTHER 

  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Assist on special projects as assigned.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Assist in the creation and implementation of process improvements.

<span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: 

  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Undergraduate degree in Accounting preferred.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>3-5 years of experience in payroll and/or accounts receivable.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Experience with Paylocity and accounting systems required.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Strong analytical skills and ability to problem solve.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Attention to detail.
  • <span “:=”” 14px”=””><span “:=”” arial,=”” helvetica,=”” sans-serif”=””>Ability to effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities.
