Job Description

Hereunder there is a summary of the key roles and responsibilities where the Projects Control Manager in Total Renewables Head Office is involved:

  • Total Renewables standards on Projects Control: standardization, preparation and follow-up of proper implementation and fulfillment of the developed and approved Project Control and Planning Specifications by EPC Contractor, including verification during the bidding process, independently of the technology, size or country. This includes the preparation of templates that drive Total Renewables standardization achievement.
  • Monthly Total Renewables Dashboards preparation for the Projects in the execution phase to maintain Top Management accurately informed about projects’’ status and risks.
  • Bidding stage: while supporting BU, review of different Appendices under the PPA and EPC Agreements in relation to Projects Control, both standard files or specific procedures/files prepared ad-hoc for the project. Review of the main hypotheses considered for the Investment Decision: CAPEX, OPEX, yield …
  • Projects under execution:
    • While supporting BU and Project Company, technical validation and interview of the different profiles proposed to join in the Project Companies Project Management Team in the Project Control roles. Usually involved as well in the search of adequate people.
    • Prior to the Effective Date and before the Project Company Control resources are fully mobilized, in coordination with BU, take the ownership of the interaction with the EPC in all tasks related to Project Control proper allocation of tools and resources to support the EPC Contractor in the early development of all necessary Project Control tools.
    • During the execution of the Project, continuous review of the Level 3 Schedule updates in coordination with BU, with special attention to adding value on critical/subcritical sequences that may be delayed and potentially impact the different Contractual dates.
  • During the execution of the Project, continuous review of the several Project Control tools, supporting BU, Project Company and EPC teams, including Monthly and Weekly Reports, KPIs, commissioning support, Contractual analysis to cover possible EOTs, risk analysis,…
  • Oversight position changes to Management position with BU when/if Project Companies and EPC Contractors present shortfall or require direct support
  • Implementation and sharing of Project Control expertise and lessons learnt from and through the projects portfolio and BU, enhancing and covering the different gaps where the Project Control teams can be challenged.
  • Direct support on board presentations and Top Management Meetings preparation.
  • Support the BU and Project Companies in all discussions with Offtakers regarding all the Project Control and Scheduling matters.
  • Visits to sites periodically in order to support the Project Companies and enhance the confidence and trust with the Head Office.

Candidate profile

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Planning, Scheduling, of large projects, with at least 5 years in Power Projects, with several projects fully completed. In case that renewables experience cannot be ensured, the candidate shall demonstrate that he has an outstanding profile with 10 years minimum experience in Power technology.
  • Experience in the EPC side is mandatory. Experience as a developer/Owner is welcome.
  • Proficiency in Primavera Planning & Scheduling Software and tools related to project control (including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite tools).
  • Should have the taste for field missions. You are rigorous, methodical, and organized.
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.

Technical requirements and responsibilities:

  • Detailed analysis and continuous understanding/implementation of the PPA and EPC Contracts in all related to planning and reporting;
  • Support to the financial team in terms of verification of payment milestones achievement and expected payment status based on the schedule analysis.
  • Continuous coordination with all project disciplines and Project director to ensure full real-time understanding of project health and risks
