CONTEXT:

 

Under the responsibility of Rehabilitation Technical Director, the Rehabilitation Manager is an expert who leads a team of Rehabilitation HQ Specialists and ensures strategic technical guidance, support and control in her/his scope of expertise.

This new function is twofold as it combines management and technical expertise functions. The manager role is estimated to 40% EFT while 50% EFT is dedicated to technical support. 10% is allocated to the support of the Belgium NA. This time share is subject to evolution and the time allocation will be reviewed in a yearly basis or when needed.

This position of rehabilitation manager leads a team of 4 Rehabilitation specialists based in the HI National Associations (Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany) mostly dedicated in supporting rehabilitation projects in development contexts.

 

OBJECTIVES: 

In the context of HI reorganization (ROOTs), the Manager is in charge of accompanying the team in the new HR setting and roles in line with both the global guidelines and the rehabilitation STRATECH. Consequently, a special attention has to be given to individual career path and mentoring for the successful implementation of ROOTs.

As manager s/he contributes to the development, implementation and monitoring of the division’s strategy. S/he also support in defining framework, norms as well as influence and business development for the Unit. In addition, S/he supervises a small portfolio of programs, which may change according to needs but also to overall Unit HR setup (implementation of STRATECH).

Finally, as currently the Manager is based within the ANB, s/he will be in charge of managing and monitoring cross cutting rehabilitation activities funded by the DGD (Belgium Cooperation) and to represent the rehabilitation division toward this donor.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your main responsibilities are:

TEAM MANAGEMENT

-You support the Rehabilitation Director in to the elaboration, implementation and monitoring of the Rehabilitation 5-year plan ;

-You manage rehabilitation team composed (to this date) of 4 people (including 1 research officer and 1 rehabilitation officer), each carrying the global framework of Rehabilitation ;

-You actively participate to the Executive Committee (COMEX) of the Rehabilitation Division composed by the Managers and the Director of the Division with the assistant.

EXPERT

-You set framework and standards on the technical know-how under rehabilitation scope ;

-You provide strategic technical guidance ;

-You ensure technical quality and the relevance of HI’s rehabilitation projects ;

-You contribute to the improvement of technical know-how through the development of lessons learnt, research and innovation projects under Rehabilitation division ;

-You facilitate the technical division.

INFLUENCE

-You support the Rehabilitation Director in, setting the framework, strategy and annual work plan of policy work for the Rehabilitation Division in order to contribute to the international prestige and positioning of HI’s expertise in rehabilitation.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

-In line with the STRATECH, and in close collaboration with the Rehabilitation Director and the Institutional Funding team, you monitor the evolution of the sectors within the scope of the Unit and set a growth strategy in order to identify major opportunities and/or new projects to be developed.

-You contribute to the life of the national association, supporting the team for Brussels based activities, and, in close collaboration with the Benelux Director and the Programmes team, contribute to the DGD framework agreement.

Expériences / Formation

  • You hold a degree in physiotherapy, occupational therapy or P&O ;
  • You have at least 7 years of experience in rehabilitation field, integrating experience abroad in low and middle income countries ;
  • You master project cycle mechanisms and main MEAL tools and methods as well as concept of training engineering of different pedagogical models ;
  • You understand disability social model and approaches, with sound knowledge on gender and intersectionality as a lens to address vulnerabilities ;
  • You are bold, responsive and empathic ;
  • You are proficient in written and oral institutional communication, in French and in English.

Salaire

  • Type of contract : CDD – 1 year

Note: due to the COVID situation, this position is for the moment on a 100% home working modality. A teleworking policy is under development and should promote a homeworking modality of 2-3 days of homeworking/day but this will only be possible ones the de-confinement measures are in place.
