Save the Children recruits an Accountant (Officer) based in Phnom Penh

(National candidate only)

 

Role Purpose

The Accountant is supporting/reporting to Finance Coordinator – Control & Compliance to maintain for the timely preparation of month end, year-end closing, review of uploaded files before final posting, monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, preparation of adjusting entries, and maintenance of banking documents for Country Office. S/he is responsible to maintain Save the Children financial accounting and management system in Country Office.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

 

Qualifications and experience

  • A Bachelor degree in finance and banking subject from an accredited University.
  • At least bachelor degree in Accounting/Management/Administration or equivalent

 

Experience and skills

  • Minimum 3 years of similar working experience, preferably with NGO and INGO
  • Proven strong accounting and analytical skills, good attention to detail
  • Ability to plan and organize a substantial workload that includes complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities in both development and emergency contexts
  • Demonstrated credibility with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels of an organization
  • Team building skills
  • Willingness and ability to change work practices
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Competent level skills in MS Excel and accounting system such as Agresso
