Context and responsabilities:

To contribute to the growth of Canadian financial contributions necessary for the implementation of humanitarian and development projects of Humanity & Inclusion (HI), HI is seeking an Institutional Funding Project Officer to work within its Institutional Funding division for a determined period of time (until August 2022).

The Institutional Funding Project Officer will work under the authority of Institutional Partnerships Manager. The individual selected for this position will contribute to the increase of the volume of funds granted to Humanity & Inclusion. Duties include:

Contributing to proposal submissions, project’s follow-ups and reporting, especially to donors from Quebec;
Taking part in reinforcing HI’s reputation towards donors and civil society networks in Canada, especially in Quebec.

Contributing to proposal submissions, project’s follow-ups and reporting, especially to donors from Quebec;
Taking part in reinforcing HI’s reputation towards donors and civil society networks in Canada, especially in Quebec.

Activities:

Contributing to proposal submissions, project’s follow-ups and reporting, especially to donors from Quebec

Participate in the identification of funding opportunities and in the preparation and submission of proposals;
Ensure the follow-up on a number of contracts by working closely with employees at the headquarter and in the field to ensure the compliance with donors rules and requirements;
Contribute to knowledge development and the dissemination of rules and regulations for the different Canadian donors;
Address the requests coming from HI Institutional Funding Direction (donor details, analyses, reporting);
As needed, visit HI field offices and/or facilitate donor’s field visits to ensure consistent project’s follow-ups and in-depth knowledge about the activities being funded by Canadian donors.

Taking part in reinforcing HI’s reputation towards donors and civil society networks in Canada, especially in Quebec

Represent HI among Quebec sectorial networks;
Promote HI’s specific expertise, particularly on matters of inclusion, access to services and disability;
Disseminate and promote the studies and analyses produced by HI within various Canadian forums.

Profil:

Education:

Higher education degree (university or equivalent, at minimum an undergraduate degree) in a related field (project management, international development, public health or other).

Experience:

At least three years of experience in the international cooperation sector(office or field);

Experience in securing funding from institutional donors;
Experience in managing contracts funded by institutional donors, particularly Global Affairs Canada and the Ministère des Relations internationales et de la Francophonie du Québec;
Experience in the disability and/or gender advocacy sectors are an asset.

Skills:

Good understanding of relationships with institutional donors;
Pedagogy, ability to synthesize;
Excellent French and English writing skills;
Ability to write international correspondence, project proposals, funding requests, follow-up and evaluation reports, etc.;
Budgetary and financial tracking skills are an asset.

Languages:

Proficiency in both French and English.

Understanding the challenges that can exist in an international organization such as HI (8 national associations, 57 countries, 1 operations centre);

Available to travel between Montreal and Ottawa, and internationally, depending on the organization’s needs.

Conditions:

We offer a competitive employee benefits program, including the employer’s RRSP contribution and two weeks paid vacation. The salary is set between $46,820 and $54,620.
